This is getting alot of press, must be the Knicks influence
I think the Nuggets should play without Melo vs the Spurs, just in case it isn't 'accidental'![]()

Knicks guard Steve Francis was hurt after landing on Spurs forward Bruce Bowen's foot while making a jumper early in the game against the Spurs in New York on Monday, and the tension was still evident as the two sides met in a rematch in San Antonio on Saturday.
Bowen and Knicks coach Isiah Thomas each got a technical in the first quarter when Thomas yelled something toward Bowen after Knicks guard Jamal Crawford shot a jumper and nearly came down on Bowen's foot.
"I didn't really see where he was. I knew he was somewhere underneath me," Crawford said. "I didn't know exactly where. I was focused on getting the ball up."
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich also entered the fray with a back-and-forth with Thomas, but wasn't called for a technical. He didn't talk directly about the incident after the game, although Thomas did.
"I thought Jamal went up to take the shot and as he was coming down, Bruce's foot was under him," Thomas said. "And if he were to come down on his foot, he could have broken his ankle or sprained his ankle and he would have been out, just like Francis."
Bowen said the incident was unfortunate.
"It's unfortunate that injuries happen in this game. But it's about what we learn as kids as far as the enjoyment of playing this game," Bowen said.
Tim Duncan came to Bowen's defense.
"There's nothing that Bruce did. Bruce didn't do anything. Bruce defends people, and people get frustrated," he said.

I'm gonna drink a Red Stripe, the best beer in the Caribbean, in honor of Bruce Bowen. Yep, I'm in Jamaica, Kingston to be exact. Here on business but plan on taking a drive with my importer and broker through the mountains to a beautiful beach near waterfalls tomorrow. Go Spurs! Go Jamaica (in cricket - haha).
It's getting a lot of press because it was a huge incident at the game tonight.
Tim was super pissed off in the locker room tonight. He was really mad that Isiah went after Bruce over nothing.
I want to hear more on this one. It'd be fun being rivals with NY if they didn't suck so bad.
Read the other article I just posted from E-N.
I'll post Duncan's audio in a few minutes.
Basketball is a physical sport!!! To all players who whine and complains, I think y'all are in the wrong sport. You should try the game of CHESS, that you won't get hurt!!!
What is "physical" about sliding your foot repeatedly under a shooter's foot so that he injures his ankle?
That's not physical.
It's complete bush league. If someone did that to Ginobili or Parker and it was a guy who had a rep of doing it consistently (yet maintained it was accident after accident) and caused a torn ACL for Manu or Tony, this forum would want that guy suspended.
No one is complaining about Bowen pushing and grabbing, because there's a lot of physical NBA defenders who do the same thing (Raja Bell, Ron Artest, etc) but undercutting guys is simply something you don't do. If you do, expect to acquire a rep of being dirty.
sliding your foot repeatedly under a shooter's foot so that he injures his ankle?
There's a difference between sliding and landing your foot in between the legs of your opponent. It's more of a momentum for trying to guard a shooter as close as possible... It's no difference to those shooters who kick forward when shooting three's.
Bush league is whining about something when you've never played sports in your life. What is "physical" about sliding your foot repeatedly under a shooter's foot so that he injures his ankle?
That's not physical.
It's complete bush league.
The fact that you think Bowen somehow can figure out exactly where to place his foot, with his head turned towards the basket, to sprain someone's ankle is comical at best, ignorant at worst.
But I wouldn't expect anything different from a Faker fan.
yall need to STFU. if someone did that to Manu Ginobili, yall would call him the leagues biggest thug, dirtiest player, and that he should be suspended, bla bla bla...
I don't think so! We know better than that! Even the Spurs players themselves know better... Pls. tell me if you've seen Manny go after the player who fouled him hard.... Im not sure if it happened during the knicks or suns game, He got hit on his face hard and yet nobody even call the player dirty.... So, I don't know what you talkin about!!
ok... a lot of players get fouled hard from time to time, but never complain, not just Manu. most players only get upset when either frustrated, or if a dirty/unneccesary play happened, including Manu.
My point is ...Did you see any of us complained or whined about a player being dirty?yall need to STFU. if someone did that to Manu Ginobili, yall would call him the leagues biggest thug, dirtiest player, and that he should be suspended, bla bla bla...
Let's put it this way... If Bruce is the dirtiest player, then He should have been suspended and fined multiple times. He is a smart defense specialist!!!
Well, I guess Bowen can't be as subtle as those cheap shots that Terry and Howard are making the norm these days.
If Bowen is so dirty, and so many whiny pussies are complaining to the league and sending tape, why isn't the league penalizing Bowen for it?
Thanks for playing.
Wow, two guys in Bowen's career have landed on his foot while he's defending them. Damn. Do you think they could bring him up on criminal charges for that?![]()
That would at least decrease the chances that Manu would get forearmed and clobbered going to the hoop.![]()
A Nuggets fan daring to come in here accusing anyone of being dirty. That's balls.
yea. i have. look at the "Jason Terry is a thug" thread. and people always here, saying that Josh Howard is a dirty thug as well.
oh yea, a kick to the face isnt a cheap shot. purposely tripping players when driving isnt a cheap shot. STFU. hes a great defender, but is a dirty player too, and knows how to hide it. once, Jordan talked about dirty players, and that some were very good at hiding it. he said John Stockton was one of the dirtiest players he played against. he would grow out his fingernails, and subtly scratch the out of players when swiping at the ball. none of us would have known that.
and there are a lot of things that players get away with. how about Shaq's elbow he always uses to clear space? its clearly an illegal move, and at times even a dirty move, and people complain about it, but nothing happens. Kobe subtly throws elbow's in players faces all the time, but never gets busted, despite clear evidence. some players just get away with stuff. some players know how to hide stuff very well too. Bowen is one of them.
Nah, I'd call him Dirk Nowitzki.

more than 2 guys have had an issue with Bowen doing that.
Read the other Bruce threads and you'll see that was inaccurate.
Uh, wasn't it a Nugget that grab someone by the balls last year in a game?A Nuggets fan daring to come in here accusing anyone of being dirty. That's balls.
where did i accuse him of being dirty?![]()

yeh and he is also the guy that some spurs fans wanted so badly on the Spurs this season![]()
