Dude, in SA it is like most major cities in that the best music is usually @ the Poofter Palaces.
There are some other joints to find some good music but from 1985 til apprx 2000 the best music (if you're lookin' for 125bpm or more) was at gay clubs.
Some of the youngins online here might be able to tell you what their opinions are.

Dio, as for your comment about gay clubs and music, it's the same in Australia to an extent. As I said, I'd like to go to a place with some good music, and I don't really care whether it's straight or gay, as long as the people are creating the right atmosphere, PLUR (Peace Love Unity Respect), and have a great time!

As for 125bpm, I think that's more house/trance, I'm into the mid-tempo, washy synths, acid effects, and melding of trance/breaks/house and techno that is Progressive...
