Our bench was kick ass tonight.
We'll take it!
MAJOR ownage, and the reason that the Rox are NOT contenders.
Beno was huge tonight. I don't know if anyone caught the late turnover that McGrady could've turned into a three-ball and got the rockets back into the game, however, he played a solid game and was key in the comeback.
No Rocket game would be complete without a Beno turnover in the backcourt.

But yeah, Horry, Beno and Elson were huge.
Bench rocked. Even Big Shot Rob made an appearance - 1st time this season.
The Church of Elson still in session!
Beno and Robert were great. Made some great shots in critical situations. Congratulations to Elson too.

Man I was listening to the game in Houston and they were calling out some other of our players for turnovers and getting shots blocked. Maybe some of us ought to get off Beno's ass.
Props for everyone, but ... I'd like an especial clap for Beno ... coming out from doghouse!
I've always contended that Beno has game.. I think he got a huge setback last year, due to the Vanex deal.
But it looks like he is determined to prove himself this year.
props to da bench for being ready! and contributing!!!!
Cool.. only that the team to beat now is Utah.. anybody know when our first match will be against them?
Until he proves otherwise, Beno will be judged on his late-game decision-making because of his costly errors in the past.
It was the same way with Tony, but lately he's been nothing but clutch, especially this season, in late game situations, and he finally let that "stink" come off of him.
If Beno continues to play well and has some mistake-free late-game performances, the "stink" will probably come off him too.
This win likely doesn't happen without Beno. Give him his propers.
Spurs bench:
41 PT on 19/29 FG
4/4 FTs
21 RB
5 AST
6 TO
2 ST
7 PF
The best part of the game was seeing our center beat everyone down the court consistently. When was the last time you saw that from a Spurs center?
Oh, yeah . . . that's right . . .
That "stink" is still with Parker also until he shows he can perform on the big stage when the pressure is on. In the 2005 Finals he was just as bad as Beno. A few games in November against crap teams is nothing compared to the pressure of the playoffs against top contenders with the world watching. When I see Parker get through a playoff run without having a lapse where his duties are passed to someone else then I'll know he's arrived.
hitman takes a hit, plonk!
Given that Beno won't play in the last 10 minutes this year (Pop has changed Parker rotation to give him more playtime in the 4th quarter), it will be difficult to judge Beno on that.
True enough. Spurs need to start blowing some teams out so we can look at some other guys - White & Butler, if they're even active that is.
And then maybe Beno can get some minutes late in the game.
I told all you bas s last year that Beno should have been playing all year last year instead of NVE. All he needs is playing time to become a quality PG in this league.
All you people focused on was his TOs, and I said that he made no more mistakes than any raw PG who just needed PT.
