With all these negative articles lately about Bowen's defense, I thought it would be a good idea to point out certain NBA players that actually respect Bowen and enjoy going up against him when they play. I think the media just talks about Ray Allen and Vince Carter as the ones hating on Bowen, but never truly mentions the players that do like competing with him...
So let's see:
Tracy McGrady was just quoted in a recent article complimenting Bowen's play and saying that he actually likes going up against him during games. He was also quoted as saying that Bowen is one of the best defenders in the league, high compliment...
Peja Stojacovic has always respected Bowen. He and Bruce are always on friendly terms.
Kobe Bryant has also stated before that the toughest defender that has ever guarded him was Bowen. Coming from a guy with a huge ego, that sounds like a high compliment.
Dwyane Wade has never had a problem with Bowen and seems to respect him.
Larry Brown, one of great coaches that always compliments Bowen on his defense.
Dirk also gave Bowen his compliments when the HUGE BLOCK had happened last season. He mentioned that Bowen made a great play. (lol...while Avery was busy talking about "bear hug" defense...LOL)
Allen Iverson has also warmed up to Bruce. Last season, the two were hugging before the game...
Brent Barry (true he is a Spur now...but he did have issues with Bruce before, now he doesn't and actually realizes that Bruce is a great defender, not a dirty player...)
Michael Finley (was one of the biggest whiners agains Bruce back in the day. Now that he's a Spur, the two are close...)
I know there are more...but I just can't think of more names...

This is not a bad thread. I'm shocked. You actually have me thinking. I know that LeBron has mentioned Bruce's defense but who cares cuz LeBron still goes for 40 a game with Bruce on him.

He (Wade) cramped up after landing on Bowen's foot late in the game. Bowen, who has been accused of stepping under shooters, crowded Wade after he released his shot but immediately apologized.
Said Bowen: "He told me, 'I know you're not like that.'"
I know Wade whined about Bowen somewhere... I gotta look for that one.
i think you're right, I think Wade has ed about Bowen. Nothing on the scale that Ray Allen or Vince Carter has, but some minor complaints/ ing.

Why people just can't accept the fact that Bruce is a dirty player?
