Let's be honest here, Diop's length really hurts TD.

Dare I say, nobody in the league guards TD better than Diop right now (though usually that le goes to Sheed)

Duncan can get Diop in foul trouble, but it really seems like he has a hard time shooting over him

Players with length always give Duncan some problems. He just needs to not try and shot over longer players with a pump or a better move.

Dampier and Diop switch up on him. They both played roughly the same amount.

But I'll take Timmy's O game today any day.

As far as I've seen is that Diop makes Duncan work harder on rebounds and scoring. Diop is younger and can move with TD and stay on his feet to alter one's shot, which to his advantage should keep him away from foul trouble, but he ends up picking up some ticky-tack fouls he shoulndn't have committed.

I said that same thing in the game blog thread. Tim needs to do a better job of mixing it up against him, but Diop does a better job than almost anyone else in the league.

Don't get me wrong, thats still not very good, but Diop's length helps.

Diop's blocks are getting to your head. Try replaying last year's playoffs for a reference.

Diop knows Duncan. I think Duncan needs to work up on his medium-range shot he's really lost it this time

Duncan's performance was fine this game. I'd like him to make ALL his free throws, but even that aspect of his game was good enough to keep me from complaining. For a guy whose FT difficulties are mental, making three in a row under that pressure is enormous. And he had two beautiful midrange shots tonight, and even broke out the bank shot.

Diop shut TD down in the OT in game 7

although maybe a lot of that also had to do with fatigue

and manny i missed your post about Diop in the game blog, but it's good to see someone else notices this as well

Diop has done a better job than Dampier on Duncan but he wasn't really great. Mavs best defense again Duncan was to double him with one big and one small (often Harris) but Spurs have nit been able to find the open man well.

A fatigued Duncan will have problems against Diop. When Duncan is fresh and thinking well it is very hard for anyone to anticipate his moves. Diop tries hard though and is active. Also Dallas rarely double teams and they get burned usually when they do.

if that's what he meant, point taken. TD has had many bad possessions offensively because he's often predictable, but he has put above average numbers against him.

i dont think its only diop or duncan, but seriously our backcourt also has problems against the backcourt of mavs, suns....

gino = only an injury will put him away
tp = once he becomes a non factor in game, dont expect anything else from him
beno = only thing holdin him back is MINUTES
vaughn = may look good only in short stints only
barry = needs more plays imo
    finley = stop forcing shots
horry = waitin for the big bang to strike so dinospurs can retire

you can credit that to piss poor defense (lack of) by dampier...diop matches up with duncan alright, not great, but alright, dampier didn't do in terms of defense, he got some rebounds and points but nothing in terms of defense when it comes to duncan, it was embarrassing, duncan had no problem at all shooting the ball when damp was in the game

what is a Diop? since when is fouling defense? dallas has no one who can guard timmy. lets leave it at that. timmy in game 7 overtime was terrible, but not because of diop. he is shooting over 60% from last year playoffs and the 1st two games this season combined VS the mavs...and i dont think its because dampier was THAT terrible. give TD a lil more credit than that. Diop is a loser...sorry for my tone today but i am extremely upset.

i SWORE that horry shot was goin in...we need to put him on ice till april
