San Diego vs. Chicago
San Diego is victorious and wins returns the next year for a repeat performance.
Right now it's looking like Chargers and Bears.
But that's subject to change.![]()
San Diego over Indianapolis
followed by an anti-climactic San Diego over Carolina
![]()
They are both in the AFC.
My second choice would be Bears and Chargers...
I thought the same until I quoted him to respond and saw what needed to be highlighted.
Haha, clever JMarks.
Three weeks ago I woulda said Chicago vs San Diego. But , Cowboys have a shot, they are good on BOTH sides of the ball, unlike Chicago whose offense is highly suspect to me. If returning players stay healthy, I don't think we can leave out the Seahawks, either.
For me it was a toss up twixt Carolina and Seattle for which team was going to be slaughtered by the bolts... Carolina, at this point, has fewer questions. They don't have the potential of Seattle, but they don't have the issues either.
Carolina is awfully inconsistent... just don't see it happening.
Can't tell you why I like em, but I do. They have everything they had a year ago in the playoffs, plus, if healthy, they'll add a running game that they didn't. Today they are without Foster. They are being cautious, knowing this very thing. With Foster they are a pretty solid offense and lately, the defense has been very good.
They have two more weeks to figure out their few issues. I think they do it.
EDIT: Also, if you look at the upcoming schedule, it's possible they escape with just one loss, if not even compete to run the table. I figure they notch a 11-5 record at worst and compete for a 12-4.
Mon 12/4 - at Philadelphia, 8:30 pm
Sun 12/10 - NY Giants, 1:00 pm
Sun 12/17 - Pittsburgh, 1:00 pm
Sun 12/24 - at Atlanta, 1:00 pm
Sun 12/31 - at New Orleans, 1:00 pm
Not one of those teams is playing good football right now. New Orleans is the only team I worry about, or rather, the only team playing as good as Carolina.
They go 11-5 or 12-4, they get at least one game at home, maybe even a bye for the first week and a home game. They trounced Chicago last year, so I think they have as good a shot as any.

Agreed about Chicago's offense. Waaaaay too shaky. Right now the Chargers defense is shaky as well, but look for that to be settled when Merriman and Castillo return next week.
Jake "the other snake" Delhomme is far too inconsistent this year to lead a team to the Super Bowl. I think the NFC may get a story like Pitt last year where a wild card gets hot and pushes to the Super Bowl. If the Cowboys can stay hot they have a chance. If the Giants ever get their together they have a chance. The Saints have an outside chance.
SD has Martyball in full effect when the P.O. come - no SB for them this year.
Yeah, the bolts are the real deal, imho. Playing well w/o Merriman and Castillo, and a few weeks to get it together with them again.. shiiit, I have no problem picking them from AFC. But NFC is still wide open imho... I know everyone wants to crown Chicago but one-dimensional teams rarely win championships...
He's already led them to one and was within one game of another last year?
This certainly has legs. Marty cannot be counted on to let his players just simply play.SD has Martyball in full effect when the P.O. come - no SB for them this year.
Martyball died after the Ravens loss. For the first time in his career, Marty has a playmaker at QB he has full faith in. Saying Martyball still exists is foolish. Any of you claiming this actually watched any Charger games this season? You don't lead the league in scoring by playing Martyball. See you all in the Superbowl.
I'm in a San Diego market in Yuma, Arizona. I get them every week. I understand what you're saying since that Ravens game. I also understand that when push turns to shove, that most revert to form, so I get what he's saying about Marty being Marty come playoff time. It's yet to be seen, therefore yet to be known.
Oh, and BTW, Carolina sucks donkey ass... Seattle will take the NFC before losing to San Diego.
They very well may not regress to Martyball in the PO, but I think the chances are very good that they will. As a diehard SD fan - you know you have that worry in the back of your mind... and it will only get bigger as the PO get closer.
JMark - do you know Nick Pappagiorgio from Yuma, AZ??![]()

Only Nick I know I wish I didn't... don't recall his last name, but know I could spell it, so I'm going to say no, I do not know him.
Guess I don't get the joke... That pic looks like actor Ethan Embry a little, but after that, I'm clueless.
Check out National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation - Embry gets a fake DL to be able to gamble on the strip. The name on the DL is Nick Pappagiorgio from Yuma, AZ... and when he keeps winning he becomes popular around Vegas and is referred to as "Nick Pappagiorgio from Yuma, Arizona". It's not often around here that the subject of Yuma AZ comes up, so I had to ask...
