1. I think small ball cutesy funky *creative* LordPop lineups such as with Fabs going 20 minutes with 1 point and no rebounds, BenoFins Horkfest is more important then playing Elson and Duncan together.
The 2005 Spurs lineup that rolled to the Championship had Nazr and Duncan together a lot. We should never return to that in an Elson/Duncan lineup because Nazr "did not know his assignments" just as Elson "does not know his assignments". Forget that we were 7-1 and rolled Dallas with TD-Elson. Its more important to watch Tim get owned by Boozer last night. Dump him the ball and stand and watch. So don't put Elson and Duncan on the floor togther.
2. Michael Finley should be given unending amounts of time to get his shot back. This is far more important than any le pursuit. We already have 3 les. How many les does your Grandma have? Yeah, thats what i thought asshole. Leave Pop and Finley alone. If Finley is 30% in a playoff elimination series so what? The important thing is he gets big minutes.
Players who are hot and playing well get minutes with Pop. This fallacy is available at a game near you now.
Nothing.

wait aminute. you are actually calling for POp to give MORE minutes for suck ass Finley???? he hasnt had enough??

Weren't there four truths, or am I going crazy?
I don't like this losing crap either, but:
1) Championships aren't won in November.
2) Finley does need to get his shot back for this team to succeed long term.
3) Pop needs to see a bunch of different lineups--even weird ones--in game situations to see what he's got. At least that's what I hope he's doing.
I agree that Elson needs more PT. small ball.
uh less than 19 years apart! i'm curious. were you alive when the first one was hung?
Heard this all last year. The notion that the Spurs are capable of simply turning it on and dominating in the playoffs has long passed.
I think you're thinking about something else.
The quote was from Ahnold in Conan the Barbarian.
So what? It's not my notion. My notion is it's too early to flip out. Spurs have major new pieces to assess and tweak (FO, FE, etc.), and need to get Finley's shot back on track (if possible). As the rest of my post states, these might explain why Pop is fielding strange lineups from time to time, and playing Finley so much.
If Pop's only concern was winning every single game, Tim and Tony would play 45 min's a game and they'd be burned out come June. He can't have that. He's also got to see what the other guys are capable of, get them seasoned in tough situtations, etc.
(I"m not a Pop=Genius believer, but I do understand why he's doing this kind of stuff early in the season.)
