This is the man that the idiot politicians want us to
    negotiate with.

Does it bother anyone that he tell us to either worship God
    in his manner or die.

Do you think he may just be trying to tell us something? Like
we are at war with you and will wipe you off the face of the
map if we get the chance!

I take the man at his word. I would hope you would.

Follow God or vanish, Ahmadinejad tells West
    Dec 06 5:14 AM US/Eastern

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned Western leaders to follow the path of God or "vanish from the face of the earth".

"These oppressive countries are angry with us ... a nation that on the other side of the globe has risen up and proved the shallowness of their power," Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northern town of Ramsar, the semi-official news agency Mehr reported Wednesday.

"They are angry with our nation. But we tell them 'so be it and die from this anger'. Rest assured that if you do not respond to the divine call, you will die soon and vanish from the face of the earth," he said.

The outspoken president also maintained Iran's defiance over its controversial nuclear programme, saying it was on course to fully master nuclear technology.

"Thank to God's help, we have gone all the way and are only one step away from the zenith.

"We hope to have the big nuclear celebration by the end of the year (March 2007)," Ahmadinejad said, echoing comments he has made on numerous occasions in recent months.

A defiant Iran has refused to suspend its uranium enrichment work, a process that the West fears could be extended to make nuclear weapons.

Iran however insists its nuclear programme is solely aimed at generating energy.

France's Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said Wednesday after a Paris meeting on Tehran's nuclear programme that the UN Security Council is agreed "there will be sanctions" on Iran, though their extent is yet to be decided.

His little statement: ...proved the shallowness of their power...". Wonder where he gets that idea. Cut and
    Run mentality or maybe Somilia?

He's finally got some real worries. The mad mullahs of Iran are pretty peeved that he gazed upon an unveiled woman at some sporting event.

It could actually get him kicked out of office and punished. I don't know if they pluck out eyes for that offense or what. But, we can only hope it's painful and slow.

Negotiating with the guy IS NOT going to bring peace to the Middle East. This guy is simply playing a ing game and the sad part is many Americans have taken the bait.

Why would we want to seek the help of one of the main suppliers of the insurgency in Iraq??

Of course you trust him implicitly. Right Clam.

And may I ask why wouldn't the world trust us. We do keep our
word and have helped most of the countries of the world.

Now you, I would have to question your integrity. Obviously
you operate on whelms and feelings. And cannot be trusted to
    do what is right.

At least you've convinced me to stay away from DC,Miami, and LA.

We've earned the right to not be trusted, in 5 short years.

How did we help Iran in 1954?

Why are they so ungrateful about that?

It's not 1954 anymore; and if they're pissed about that, fine; doesn't mean we should ignore the threat, does it?

Not saying there aren't reasons they might hate us, but the fact is, they hate us, and want us dead. Should we roll over because the post WWII generation was drunk with power and ignore obvious, and real, threats?

Or do you think simply admitting past mistakes will make them like us? I think us becoming nothing less than a Shia Muslim theocratic state will suffice.

Sorry, didn't notice the year. I was thinking after the
so called revolution when Carter quit paying off the Mulah's
    and they took Iran back.

So what is the purpose of your original post?

The question posed was, "Does This Bother Anyone"

    to which you replied:

    Refresh my memory, x.

How did we help Iran in 1954?

Why are they so ungrateful about that?
Certainly hints at a pro-Iranian, blame the US for its predicament position; if not explicitly stated, then certainly implied.

So, the question remains, "Does it bother you?"

    and

What should we do about it, if anything?

    1. It bothers me

    2. I guess we continue to pretend our superiority instead of addressing the real problems of our policy.

Why do so many people, so many so-called patriots, get so angry when others attempt to find the reasoning behind the actions of other states/groups?

If I choose to take steps towards understanding why, for example, Osama Bin Laden had qualms with the U.S, it does not mean that I support his actions and wish him well in his endeavors. It simply means that the first step to any solution is finding the problem, which so many like you refuse to do.

It is possible to say that the Iranians have problems with the United States without putting them on a pedestal, it is simply removing the Red-White-& Blue blinders so that you can see the situation for what it really is.

Once you stop claiming that everybody who spouts off against the United States is a raving lunatic, with no basis or backing, then you have a much greater chance to actually play some diplomacy and save some lives.

I can't speak for Chump, but I have a feeling that the claim is meant to say that the Iranian's aren't just bi-polar nut jobs who pretend they have a lemon when we just gave them a slice of our apple pie. The problems propogated by the United States can be divulged in a discussion involving foreign policy without saying that the other side is without fault.

After all, it takes two to tango.

Which will you be. Dead or Muslim?

Ok Ray. What do you suggest? Make Iran our new object of desire? Do you think a victory in Iraq will make Iran dissappear? Take on 2 massive failures at once, by ourselves? The world thinks we're warmongers so we will have to go that route alone. You understand that, right Ray?

Well, that might be a slightly absurd statement, X.

It could be said that all a dog knows it loyalty, which means that they never stop being loyal.

It could be said that all Paris Hilton knows is being a rich, dirty, soiled , which means that she has constantly been connected to these attributes.

Now, can it be truly said that all he knows is killing or converting infidels?

Pray tell, X, how many infidels has he killed in his life? How many has he converted?

It would seem to me that it is all he knows in a similar way to it being said that all Yonivore knew in highschool was wild hot sex with the head cheerleader. Which, in this case, means that it is something they so desperately wanted, and told everybody else that they were doing all the time.

You might want to back down from that claim.

T85, tell you what. Heard of the hostages taken when the Shaw (sp) of
Iran was overthrown? Well the leader of the group that took them
hostage is the same person who wrote the letter.

How many has he killed, I have no idea. But he and his group took
over a country and they all now claim to be loyal followers of
Allah. And when they took over, many were killed. And he directs
the money that support those that kill many each and every day
    in Iraq, Somalia and Lebanon.

Now you just might want to back down or re-think you stand.

First, that was his group that did that. Attribute things to him if you are talking about him, or attribute them to the group in reference to them. Can't have it both ways.

Second, the claim about the terrorists and money is purely speculation and hearsay. There is no proof.

Third, even if all of these can be attributed to him, and are true, then it is still far from all he knows. Maybe it is all that he knows in a way that all you know if arguing with me, losing, and thinking you won.

No Clam, victory in Iraq will not make Iraq disappear. But
it will certainly make them think twice before making any
bold moves against their fellow countrymen and stirring up
more trouble. It will not be the end all to end all.

And the world most certainly does not think we are
warmongers. Only the leftest of the world purport to
claim so. I was reading an article yesterday, and I should
have posted it, where many in the ME do NOT want us
out of that area. Why, because they fear Iran. Iran is
a Persian country and not Arabians.

World domination is not our aim and everyone knows it.
And they also know we have never had ambitions of
world domination. As I have stated before, we have
help every country we have defeated in war. Look at
the big players in world of business: Japan, South Korea,
Taiwan (I know we didn't defeat them), Germany. And
yes, France, since without us there would not be a France.
We, ARMCO, developed most of the oil fields in the ME
and yes Venezuela and Mexico. These all have been
portrayed as exploitation. But I wouldn't call it that.

ARMCO did develop Mexico or Venezuela, but American
    Oil people did.
