didn't think so.
in no way shape or form am i saying Gore is better than LT because hes clearly not..... but peep the yards per rush and then holla at me
Should I peep the yards per rush..............or the total touchdowns? I'm not sure which one is more important.![]()
Put Gore on the Chargers and Lt on the Niners and then this discussion could have some validity. LT is doing "great" things on a "great" team. Gore is doing "great" things on a "crappy" team.
Sometimes you make it too easy for me.![]()
First of all, lets look at the stat that counts, TD's, it is not even close.
I'm guessing you failed to realize that up to this point Gore has played one more game than LT and if you just throw in an "average" game for LT to even things out until your bye week, who would be on top? Now run along and kill yourself.
i dont care how many more games hes played.... he still has less attempts and more yards..... now you run along and kill YOURSELF!
LT has been doing great things his entire career, and the Chargers have been crappy for more than half of his career. Therefore, LT has done great things on crappy teams as well. And he somehow managed to score more than 6 touchdowns each time as well.
So this whole thing for you is about yards per carry?
Who ing cares! I'll take two feet less per carry and 29 touchdowns any time.
i aint gonna argue about whos the better rb as or right now... it aint even a question..... but frank gore is on the come up and in a couple years he should be having them LT numbers
Then why post charts with stats on them?![]()
you must have really stopped reading right at that quote
I cannot believe that a Chargers fan would even start up a thread comparing LT to Gore. Everyone knows that LT at this point is better than Gore. This is only Gore's 2nd season, and only his 1st season getting all of the team's carries. There is no comparison right now. Either someone has gotten into your head regarding this, or Gore himself has gotten into your head. This is something I would expect from a Raiders fan, not a Chargers fan.
The thread is a joke.![]()
Take notice of all the "can ________ do this" threads here in the NFL forum.
Reggie Bush is better than both of these scrubs.
Run 9 yards off tackle for a touchdown? Yeah, lots of RBs can do that.
Looks like he's only done it 6 times compared to 26.
Actually, I have to say that LT's 5 YPC is more impressive than Gore's 5.5 for one major reason.
LT has 20 more touchdowns than Gore...which means on 20 runs LT has been stopped in the middle of a run by the endzone. Which means he could have kept running, which hurts his yards per carry.
The niners just don't put Gore in position for Red-zone runs as often...and therefore his YPC is not hindered in the process.
If you allow LT to continue running on his 26 touchdowns, then his YPC would be a little bit higher...20 runs is a large sample to have distorted. Its almost a full game.
As a proof.... from his own 1-19 yard line Lt has 4.6 ypc, his 20-39 he has a 5.6, from his 40 to his opponents 40 he has 5.5 ypc, from his opponents 39-20 he has 5.1 ypc, from his opponents 19-1 yard line he has 3.8 ypc and 23 touchdowns.
So, as before, take away the endzone and LT is right with Gore in regards to YPC, yet even with 10 percent of his runs ending up halted by the endzone, he still is close to Gore.
And read that last statement closely....almost 10 percent of his runs end up in touchdowns.
Sick.
Oh yeah, and Gore has 6 fumbles to LT's 2, and LT has more receiving yards.
frank gore doesnt have 26 touchdowns because hes not the short yardage back. they'll put mike robinson in for gore on a 1st and goal
turambar has a good point... but as the field shortens... safeties can play the run more often and thus gives the run defense an extra 2 defenders... that might have a small impact on those numbers too.
Funny how this thread took a serious turn, considering the original poster made this topic in jest.
