i was born in texas but am extremely glad I moved to Cali. sorry to bash, but this had to be said.
You guys drive 50 on the freeway, its disgusting.
No one has patience even tho you drive slow, weird isn't it.
Construction everywhere... so annoying, more delays and congestion everywhere.
I got in 2 cussing and middle finger showdowns. I am surprised that I am still alive, thought someone would shoot me.
invest in carpool lanes.
too many airheads not putting their signal on, everyone uses their horn like it is normal to use it. Use it when needed, not when you want to get around me while I wait for a mall parking spot as someone is backing out.
speaking of malls, northstar mall is horrible, there was not enought oxygen for the amount of people in there.
rant over.

I had to endure several yrs of the tiest drivers while in SoCal.
Carpool lanes?, Many Angelinos don't know WTF they are for because quite a few drivers in SoCal would zig zag in & out of the CarPool lanes' DOUBLE LINES! IDIOTS!
Yeah, I'd have to say the driving is much faster on the 405, 5, 610, etc.![]()
You have to go to San Diego to find the only semi-competent drivers in all of Cali.
where in town are folks driving 50?
I was going 75 thru a construction zone just past north star mall the other day, in the rain, and I was still passed by about 4 cars. Whizzing by too. those mofo;s had to be going near 90.
the speed limit is 60 over there.
No construction in LA? Apparently, you're never on the 91 or the 405 out there.![]()
where is this 50 you speak of?
i'm usually going somehwere between 70-80 when i drive through the lovely traffic here in san antonio.
its really fun on 10 where they have those little curves and all.
California traffic is so much worse than San Antonio traffic.
No Doubt.
I guess Phil is speaking of the San J valley, Apple Valley or Escondido or something.
Has to be a school zone somewhere.
sheyitt...I sat in stop and go traffic from San Clemente all the way to the 805 in San Diego this past Saturday...at 9 a.m.
You have to plan your day around traffic in Ca.
However, Bandera Rd is on my hate list.
Don't forget the 60 or the 57 or 23 ...
I do love that I can drive 85 on the freeway and have a cop go flying by me without thoughts of a speeding ticket. That's the good thing about Cali driving, I guess.
i nearly myself on I10 when i hit those curves where there's a posted 45 mph. going fast on those bas s are fun... but you can see from the concrete barriers that many people bump em.
ok first off,
I never said the speed limit was 50, i said/what I implied is a GOOD amount of people drive below the speed limit.
I guess we are missing the point. My point is Texas drivers are horrible, assholes, and slow. Freeway traffic is a , yes I admit in Cali, its worse here, but Texas street congestion is much much worse, and street congestion is more on my mind than the freeway. I simply just plan my timing with driving.
I live right smack on the 405 parking lot in Long Beach california, so don't question my knowledge on the LA area.
LOL at your homerism with your town. I was born there, and love visiting, but that is it: visiting. It is okay to hate some things about your town, not everything is perfect. If you think everything is fine with SA driving then so be it, i know you need to be able to go to sleep.
at you thin skinned people.

WOW!
Talk about hitting a nerve!![]()
Who is being thin skinned now?![]()

Figures, another transplant Angelino thinking they are supreme & above everything & everyone else.
Way to go Kobe Jr.![]()
I just dont know of any highway where the vast majority of people arent going more than 50 in at least one lane.
unless we are talking about traffic.
sure the right lanes may have that, but i dont really know of any locale where the left lanes are like that.
:confused
spin it anyway you want.![]()

I live in Arizona, and spend a considerable amount of time in LA since my wife is from there.I wasn't questioning your knowledge of the LA area, but your post made it seem like LA had no construction on the roads.
oh definatly.
and what I said/implied was I have never been in a traffic situation in SA where folks were driving slow. If anythign they drive too fast especially in hazardus conditions (fresh rain, fog etc).
Perhaps there was a special crew of slow drivers planned especially for your visit .
it was xmas week, the time I usually come, so maybe you are on to something.
Maybe they were all visiting from Cali too?
Phil, Have you driven in Houston? I think that city has the heavy footed drivers there since the slow pokes are here in SA. I find it interesting when it gets REAL foggy here and everyone drives very slow...I drove over the speed limit in SoCal fog...the stuff we get here is nothing compared to that.
