He had a good stretch. The Spurs seem to be sticking with him (Vaughn isn't getting playing time lately). So hopefully he can start to improve and contribute regularly.
His defense in the second half was a huge part of the comeback. I haven't seen him play defense that well in a long, long time. Foye was killing the Spurs and Udrih shut him down. His overall hustle was great to see
Hopefully he can keep this up so that the Spurs can have a real backup point guard on the roster.

Loved what I saw tonight, I agree.
He stuck his nose in there, forcing Foye to the baseline, ran the offense at times, sharing with Ginobili.
Step in the right direction indeed![]()
pop has to call out beno every week so he can perform
Hey ... as long as it works![]()
maybe beno realizes he has to play better so he can get his bags packed and get away from pop for good
Maybe Beno should have taken the last shot?
whatever, Beno was also the reason the Twolves went up > 10 in the first half.
Beno did play better in the second half, so props to him. Attacked the rim once or twice, played decent defense, didn't dribble off his foot.
They're just playing him so they can trade him.
That's what I thought too. The sudden stop in Vaughn's playing time is too drastic.
Maybe Beno will be this year's Barry and a trade threat will raise his bar.
Yeah definite props to Beno, if only he can do this on a regular basis.
Yeah, I could see Beno playing better and earning more minutes so he can get traded. We'll see. Maybe he's just learning how to be a professional, I hope.
On the other side of the coin, it seems like they're playing Brent less for no reason I can think of except that his trade value is as high as it will be and they don't want him to get injured. If that's not the case then I don't know what the reason is for playing so much Finley and so little Barry tonight.
he played well...i agree with others though, he's about to get traded.
Hopefully his trade value went up.
the reaction of some fans following every not so bad half game of Beno proves that indeed hope dies last.
as if Beno was aquired this summer and as if he was 20 years old.
this game was somehow a consistant incident in Beno's career. every month or so he remembers that he has a bag full of talent and that it is necessary to use it from time to time to provide to get fired.
over the years this is more frustrating than no good games at all. so he reminds the fans what kind of player he could be (and never will be).
otherwise people would just call him not good enough for the NBA and wish him good luck in Europe.
so I share the hope of some others here, that games like this help to get him traded soon.
some teams are so desperate at PG (and might hope he flourishes in another environment) that it should be possible to get at least something out of him.
, the Nets just got something for McInnis, who currently has nothing left than 30 lbs overweight and his outstanding talent to be a selfish headcase and looker room cancer and who didn't play a single minute this year.
(not that I claim the Spurs should have tried to aquire B. Robinson, who is a quite nice defender and rebounder, though)
Beno playing D is the best news because it means that he is motivated and a motivated Beno is a very good backup PG.
I don't think too that Pop is trying to raise his trade value, he just play over Vaughn because he is better (and it's not difficult given that Vaughn has been really bad since he is a Spurs)
You being a Beno homer really blinds you on the fact, other than missing the occasional jumper, Vaughn has been pretty damn solid.not difficult given that Vaughn has been really bad since he is a Spurs
Now really bad.
Take off the Beno glasses Bruno.
I 100% agree Beno's defense was surprisignly strong.. Actually the entire team's defesne was as strong as I had seen it this season.
If Beno can put it into his pea brain, that
Give defensive effort = getting more PT.
Than the team just benefits, and the problem of a backup point is fixed.
I desperately want Beno to play better, cause if he doesn't and you trade him.
I mean your left with Vaughn, whos good, but not a full time back up, or someone from the NBDL.
Come on Beno, I seriously am rooting for you to do something for me to get behind.
Last night is a great step forward, keep up that defensive intensity.![]()
