Nice someone just asked the small ball question. According to Pop we lost last year to Dallas not because we went small but because of one foul. That sounds like a blowoff answer if I've ever heard one.
For Aggie Hoopsfan - They didn't go to Manu on the last shot in regulation because the Spurs weren't getting calls at the rim. They didn't go to Tim because they weren't getting calls and he doesn't hit his freethrows. So Tony found Matt. If Matt was covered, they would have gone to Manu.

Don Harris - "I hate to tell you but since Avery can't coach the AllStar game two years in a row, you are in line to go."
Pop - "Come on, Mike D'Antoni."![]()
They didn't go to Tim because Tim rarely comes through in those situations.
thats BS
Where can you listen online? Is there a link...?
All he would have had to do is hit one free throw. I think he could have at least done that.
It's over now, but Ticket760.com.
Oh really? In the past 3 years how many last second shots has duncan made or missed. I bet you his missed almost double maybe even triple what he's made.
This is true, sadly.
Duncan has never been known to be a clutch player. A guy you just give the ball to and get out of the way with a few seconds left in the game. Then again...neither was Shaq. Neither were a lot of other great big-men. That's not really a knock on Duncan. It's just at the end of tight games more often then not you're going to have a small penetrating/dishing.
I didn't say he's not clutch because he is. He's just not a last second shot type of player.
Otherwise, Tim puts up huge numbers in some of the biggest games.

so what do i win?
nothing because those stats are wrong and they don't include the past 3 years. Let's simplyfy and just use the playoffs because they are easier to remember.
Eventually they will add it to the podcast feed, which you can subscribe to here:

yeah, sure they are. just admit you're wrong
I believe I mentioned 'last seconds of the game' in my post.
I was referring to those cir stances only. Obviously, generally speaking his stats and career and hardware speak for themselves.
First even according to your stat he misses more than he makes, but if you use my stat it includes the whiff in game 5 against detroit, coming up short 2 times against dallas last year etc...
What's the last game that Manu won with a shot late in the game?
he made half. horrible. that's definitely equivalent to "Tim rarely comes through in those situations."
as far as i can discern, you're stats are not stats. you know what statistics are, right?
He's not very good at those either. However, as I said earlier this doesn't make Tim or Manu chokers.
There's no such thing as "clutchness" - so long as you aren't a choker, everything depends on your skill, the situation you're in, and sheer luck.
But it's absolutely absurd to claim that Tim Duncan fades down the stretch - and laughable to compare him to Shaquille O'Neal.
Pete, you're flat out wrong. Anyone who is making nearly half of their game winning shots is doing something right. Very few, and I mean VERY few, make more than that.
