Sonics Make Andre Brown Second GATORADE Call-Up

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 5, 2007 - Seattle Sonics general manager Rick Sund announced today that the team has signed Sioux Falls Skyforce forward Andre Brown to a 10-day contract, making him the second GATORADE Call-Up of the 2006-07 NBA Development League season and the 70th overall since the league began play in November 2001.

Brown, 6-9, leads the D-League in scoring at 22.8 points, field goal percentage at .634 (147-232) and double-doubles (11). He is second in the league in rebounding with 10.8 pg through 16 games. Brown was named the D-League Player of the Month for December after averaging 23.3 points and 11.2 rebounds in 13 games.

Fort Worth Flyers guard Kelenna Azubuike was the first GATORADE Call-Up of the 2006-07 season, signing with the Golden State Warriors earlier this week (Jan. 2).

Pretty much the best post scorer in the D-league at this point. I think the Nets should have tried to get this guy.
