He's playing with 75% or so, but I don't know why.
Last year Tim's numbers were career lows almost across the boards.
18.6 ppg 11 rpg 3.2 apg 2 bpg
Apparently it was because of his PF.
...well what about this year? The numbers are pretty much just as bad, even worse in rebounding (which is not good because this team is already a bad rebounding team).

The Spurs have had a lot of blowouts this season in which Tim can just sit out.
Yeah, he's almost playing a career low minutes. Only the "ankle" season saw him playing less.
Tony has carried on some Tim points in the regular season since last year. He doesn't need to score as much as in the past.
10.2 RPG is not that bad. Sure, 2-3 more rebounds would be welcomed.
He concentrated on blocking shots, the last few games which is important cos the Spurs need a defensive inside threat.
What are the numbers for FG% ?

So that answers the original question. PF affected his FG%. This year he's just taking less shots (and saving energy for Poffs).

With the way he has played in some of the games this year, yes absolutely. If he's healthy he should be giving 100% every night, and so far I haven't seen that. I would define that as lazy. I've seen him neglect to get rebounds and he wouldn't defend as well as he could. He's gotten better lately but I still think he could be doing a little more.
If you stupid people who are saying Tim is declining, notice he is averaging 20ppg on a career high FG% while playing the second least amount of minutes in his career. ing Christ people.
Everyone on this board was pissed at him because he was not giving full effort in games. THAT IS LAZY.
because he is playing alongside the best player in the NBA. Sometimes you have to step aside in order to win.
Tim's just waiting for the real season to start.
Why waste all that effort on the regular season? The regular season is for internet message board posters to worry about.

playing less minutes means less productivity. tim is quite efficient given the amount of mins he's playing. as the spurs ramp up for the playoffs, his numbers should slowly rise. we all know what a motivated tim can do in the playoffs, he was superb against dallas last year.
Yeah, man, 20-10 3.4 and 2 with the lowest # of (healthy) minutes and the highest FG% of his career is soooo lazy.
So freaking lazy that every other team in the NBA would kill to have him.
The incompetence of calling one of the best bigs in the game who's numbers are slightly down, not to mention completely in line with the decline in playing time cannot be exaggerated. That you would stoop to singling out Duncan, of any Spurs player this year is nearly unfathomable. He's the best player on our team by a WIDE margin, and he's producing again this year. Without him, we would struggle to be an 8 seed. With him, we're in the hunt for the best team in the NBA -again- this year.
It's not a coincidence. It's actually a very explainable situation. The only thing that's not understandable is that of all Spurs, you idiots would pick DUNCAN to explain why we aren't 38-0. Not Ginobili's streakiness, or the fact that we have NO post presence outside of one player, or the fact that our bench cannot find a rhythm outside of some skinny white boy who used to be a dunk champion.
Yeah guys. It's Duncan's fault. All his fault. And if we don't win the le this year, it's his fault, even if he puts up 40-20 and 6 every night. Because he wasn't giving 100% in your skewed, disloyal, en led-to-a- le heads. A friend of mine who's extremely knowledgable about sports (Bulls fan) was reading a few threads on this board earlier today and decided that you were perhaps the worst fans he's ever seen. I tend to agree. That's a testament to the kind of egomania running wild here. That said, there are a lot of good fans here too, but anyone who wants to rip on Duncan clearly needs to take a good long look at the banners hanging from the AT&T center. Duncan won 3 les with no heart. Yeah, right.

Everyone needs to ease off our legend and let him work it out in the playoffs. His head is here, his body is with us, and he holds the trigger to his game performance. Selective shots, wizard of plays and options with his co-workers.. I think TD is just fine.
I couldn't agree more. Duncan is the reason I'm a Spurs fan. Watching him this season has been a delight. He's healthy. He has that look in his eyes. I don't care if he whines, I just want to watch him play. He plays with a brilliance I just don't see in other players. He makes his team better, he changes other teams options by just being in the game. I don't know what will happen in May, I don't know what evil lurks in Dallas. (OK, maybe I don't want to think about Dallas right now.) I do know how much pleasure I get watching him play. He's the reason I have League Pass, I don't miss a game. It seems a lot of people are upset with him right now. Not me. I love watching him. Win or lose, I stand by Duncan.
Yeah I agree, guys, I'm not too worried about Tim. His stats have always been an understatement about him anyway. Aside from the early 2000 years when we were relying majorly on him.
Besides, Tim could care less about his PPG--maybe the rebounding could stand to be higher. If the Mavericks series wasn't proof that he is STILL in his prime, and that that PF season low was meaningless to him, then we shouldn't worry. I think Tim's stats will be solid however, just because he' cares about playing his best for the team, he'll likely make first team NBA for being the most complete player in his position for years to come anyway.
it's not just his stats. anyone would be lieing if they were to say that duncan looks like he's putting out his full effort. especially defensively, he's just not imposing his will like he used to. he used to dominate games all the time. i can't think of any off the top of my head where he just abused the other team.

I would ing think Pop is the man if he plays Dallas big this post season... mind games like a mother er during the regular season (I wouldn't put it past him, not showing what we got)... but thats unlikely...
