He headbutted the dude. I don't care what came before that. It was a ridiculous decision; the Chargers had the Patriots stopped and instead of just walking back the huddle, Florence decided it was time to run some noise and got called for it -- appropriately.
Who could have gotten him better FG position? 50+ yds is a crap shoot, imho.
A 54-yard field goal? Why not ask Rivers to complete a 15 yard sideline pass first?

How many first half drives did the Chargers have in NE territory that came up empty? They squandered excellent field position for much of the first half. How about all of the dropped passes that would've changed the outcome? The silly call to go for it on 4th and 11 in the 1st quarter forgoing a 48 yard attempt?
Frankly, the Chargers were lucky to even be in a position to win with all of the mistakes they made.

I don't blame it all on Kaeding. I just need a scapegoat for the time being. Give Kaeding five more yards and I'd be watching overtime right now. I still don't know why they kicked with 8 seconds left.
Two plays changed the game: the bull call on Florence, and the interception/fumble for a first down. I'm used to it, I'm a Charger fan.
The call on Florence was a definite headbutt.
And what about the punch to the face?
