LA Times<snip>Nonetheless despite it being unlikely state winner will change), the Ohio count is attracting scrutiny by groups who say the election was tainted and that voting equipment in Ohio, Florida, South Carolina and elsewhere was defective. On Friday, three congressional Democrats asked for a federal investigation.
Since the election, Internet sites and political blogs have buzzed with speculation that the vote was manipulated. "Evidence mounts that the vote may have been hacked," reads the le of one widely circulated Web offering.<snip>
If 10% of the provisional ballots were rejected, Kerry would need to get 97.6% of those remaining to overcome Bush's lead.<snip>
Counting of the provisional ballots is expected to begin Saturday, although state law allows counties to delay the canvass until Nov. 18, said James Lee, Secretary of State spokesman. Ohio, however, faces a Dec. 7 deadline to finish this process so that its electors can cast their electoral college votes Dec. 13.<snip>
Based on reports that Dill's organization — Verified Voting.org — has received, one precinct in Youngstown, Ohio, recorded a negative 25 million votes, which was discarded from official results. And it was widely reported after Nov. 2 that a North Carolina precinct lost 4,000 votes when a recording device used up all its memory but voters continued to cast ballots on the machine.
So, when does the official investigation for this get started?

It’s irrelevant now. If there is some big conspiracy uncovered (which isn’t going to happen), what will it accomplish? Will things truly be different in the next election (again, making the ridiculous assumptiont that there is some mastermind conspiracy behind this) ... will it change anything?
If I'm not mistaken and, please, please, correct me if I'm wrong, but, didn't Senator John Forbes Kerry stand before the nation on November 3, 2004 and concede the election to President Bush?
I conceded the election before I didn't concede the election...
Bunch of ing DIVIDERS and hypocrites these libs are.....
Yeah, I guess that's always a possibility...
Yoni, you didn't hear the "just kidding" at the end?
that, what is so dividing about making sure all the votes are counted? Godamn stop painting liberals with a wide brush just because Dan and Susan Surranden can't let the ing thing go.
WE KNOW YOU WON BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE CAN'T FIX THE FLAWS IN THE ELECTION PROCESS.
Kerry has until mid-December to take back his concession. The important thing in Ohio isn't to overtake W's total, there simply aren't enough provisional ballots to do that, but to get close enough to trigger a automatic recount which the Republicans are sure to resist because they committed fraud. Plain and simple.
I do think it's funny that the conservatives in here get all riled up though. What do you have to hide?
I'm not riled up... I'm highly amused...![]()
I am with you Manny. That is why I posted in a different thread about investigating this. I am all for totally revamping the way we run elections. I would also like to see the electoral college done away with.
I don't think anyone's seen me suggest they should stop counting...
It's just the "Demoncratic desperate" that seem to think some magic is going to reverse the outcome...
Count 'em, count 'em all!
My wife, who is about as pro-democrat as you can get, even said this last night... "There are votes still to be counted...they are mostly for Bush, but they still need to be counted."
Every votes counts regardless of who the vote is for.
Bring 'em on!
count them all. recount them all. still short? blame a bush conspiracy.
The poor bas 's lame joke continues.
Oh look, Marcus is back to share his lack of wisdom with us. How pathetic.
Dan, prove any of what you just said. Prove they commited fraud. Prove it, plain and simple.
It's not up to me to prove it, the proof is already out there. It's up to all of us to demand that the House and Senate look into any role that Optical scanned votes owned by Diebold and ES&S could have played in the manipulation of our election. It's up to all of us to demand that the corporate press quit ignoring this issue, and find out why there were more votes casts than registered voters in two of the most important swing states of this election. It is up to all of us to demand an investigation as to why E-voting machines in Texas, Ohio and other states repeaditly counted votes for John Kerry as votes for Bush. It's up to all of us to demand to know why it took democrats sometimes 9 hours to vote on older machines more likely to produce a 'bad vote' while Republican voters got newer machines and nerely had to wait over an hour. It's up to all of us to wake up. Wake the up!
Yeah, like the states are going to change the certifications and pull the slates of electors that are already assembled to cast their votes if Kerry pulls a delayed "Gore" and takes it back.
You have no concept of the damage that'd do to your Party, do you Nbadanallah?
