If it means anything at all, I think the interim head coach is pimping the ladies (and not in that Matsakis with the Classy Cats way, either).

Wright graduated in 1981, his wife graduated in 1996.

He's a ladies man. How that helps in recruiting, well, I don't know, but at least there's more time between now and signing day than when Matsakis got the boot.

I'm a TxState Alum, who also went to Canyon HS (where Wright came from). I really hope he doesn't get the head job.

Bailiff beat out Larry Coker for the job at Rice...maybe by elimination, Coker will come coach the Bobcats! I know......wishful thinking.

I really thought Bailiff would be here for the long haul. This was supposedly his dream job.

A couple of us were tossing out names last night and one that kept coming up was Larry Hill from Smithson Valley.

That would be interesting. I think his youngest son is a Jr or Sr in HS now, and he has a proven success rate at a major 5A school. They used to kick our assses when I was in HS and they were 4A. He made the state championship his 1st yr in 5A if I'm not mistaken. I would like that alot actually.

Bottom line is that we need someone who will help build a solid program. Not someone who will bolt at the 1st sniff of success.

^^^^Good times. I was at that game.

I can't say I blame him for taking the Rice job, but it still sucks. I guess I was nieve enough to belive that he cared about the program enough to reject offers from D1A programs. I have a feeling that until we move up to 1A, this may be a recurring problem. Every time we have a good season, whoever the coach is will be courted by some team in 1A.
