RealGM -
Memphis Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Jerry West announced today the Grizzlies have waived guard Eddie Jones.
In 29 games this season, Jones averaged 5.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 19.3 minutes per game. The veteran guard scored a season-high 19 points, including the game-winning shot, in a 132-130 overtime victory on Jan. 24 at Utah.
Any takers?
I like him. What's he gonna cost?
Sorry Solid D, didn't see that it was already posted
I wouldn't mind Eddie Jones if we didnt already have 8 shooting guards
I like him too. He's like Bowen in that he's a solid defender with a good shot, but he's getting up there in age too. Shouldn't be too costly
NOT ANYMORE

Jones free to sign with Heat on Thursday
Eddie Jones is heading back to the Miami Heat, ESPN.com has learned.
Jones agreed Monday on a buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies, giving up about $300,000 of his $15.7 million salary to gain his freedom from the team with the NBA's worst record. The money lost through the buyout will be made up when he signs for a prorated portion of the NBA minimum.
Jones will clear waivers Thursday morning, after which he can sign with any NBA team.
However, a source close to the situation said Jones has already decided he'll sign with Miami, meaning it is possible he will be in uniform for the defending champs when they play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
The 12-year veteran spent five seasons with the Heat before being dealt to the Grizzlies in the five-team trade in the summer of 2005 that sent James Posey, Jason Williams and Antoine Walker to the Heat.
Jones was averaging just 5.6 points in 29 games for the Grizzlies after being a 16.0 scorer over the first dozen years of his career.
He sure shows a lot of loyalty to a team that traded him. Or is he acting our of his own personal interest? Either way the Heat are going nowhere fast
The Heat have 15 players on their roster already, so I guess they'll have to get rid of one...but who? Can the Spurs use anyone they discard?
Chris Quinn or Robert Hite will probably be waived. We wouldn't need either one.
I'm guessing it'll be Hite after his DUI or whatever he got busted for the other day.
I remember that they were trying to get rid of Posey. I doubt that they waive Posey. I would think they would try to trade Posey to get someone in return.
Yeah, that'd be my inclination and no the Spurs wouldn't be better off to get him.
They can forget about a le this season.
Lakers trade Eddie Jones, won the le. Miami trades EJ, won a le. Memphis blew it, if they would have traded him they would have won a le.![]()
I hear that Jones will likely go back to Miami. Because of his age, I'm sure Pop and R.C. would be interested.
he should sign with Denver.
Signing with Miami on Thursday
Miami is the all-waived team. Payton. Mourning. DA last year. Now Eddie Jones.
I like Eddie Jones ; great addition
Pop just said that they weren't interested in him at all.
Here's the latest skinny:

That's "World Champs" to you, sir.(And more evidence that a "seasoned" (old) team can beat Dallas when it counts.)
Eddie Jones? Screw that, let's get Sean Elliott to suit up for the remainder of the season.![]()
