Reigh in Blood. This album was so influential on metal. I think it was the first breakdown in metal on a recording. Lombardo was at his prime on this one. He still is. Lars on the other hand can barely get thru Creeping Death these days.

More than a few have the Exodus cd listed as #1 thrash album.

True, but Ulrich was never a great drummer. He doesn't deserve to be compared to Lombardo.

Actually, Slayer and even Megadeth were always >>>>>>>>>>>> Metallica in terms of pure talent... Metallica just has the best songwriter of the bunch in Hetfield.

Dude, .......And Justice for All has some of the best metal drumming on tape. I remember hearing that for the first time and not listening to it again for a lonnnnnnnnnnng time because the drumming was so damn good. Lars in on fire on that album. He quickly sucked shortly after that album. Back in the day, Lars and Lombardo held their own.

Reign in Blood is best as far as pure metal goes. Master of Puppets is cool but to me, it's more hard rock than pure metal.

Yeah I know, just wanted to put some other recent good metal albums out there. From those 3, Reign of Blood I guess, although I never really liked Tom Arayas voice

I can't respect or even bring myself to listen to Metallica after all their ing and whining over Napster.
I thought they were right about Napster, but they were total ing es about it. They should have put out a statement saying we respect our fans, but we're against piracy, it hurts the bands you like, etc.

Instead they said you, we're ing Metallica, let's about our intellectual property, and then sue our loyal fanbase that we built with anti-materialist music like Eye of the Beholder and Wherever I May Roam.

    .
piracy doesn't hurt bands that are on major labels. that's all the record company's dough. the band makes their money touring and with all the merch. so don't download merch and concert tickets.

True, but Ulrich was never a great drummer. He doesn't deserve to be compared to Lombardo.
Ulrich is one of the most horrible drummers if you consider every popular speed or thrash metal band that came out around the time of Anthrax, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, etc

He sucks. Lombardo, on the other hand, was master of the Drums of Death. Lombardo actually hooked up with some DJ or techno dude and made a drum n bass album called Drums of Death. Apparently its pretty intense .
