Nash to sit out Portland game with sore shoulder
February 6, 2007
PHOENIX (AP) -- All-Star point guard Steve Nash will miss the Phoenix Suns' game at Portland on Tuesday night because of inflammation in his right shoulder.
The NBA's two-time defending MVP didn't play in the second half of the Suns' 113-108 victory in Denver on Monday night.

That didn't stop him from lecturing his teammates after a lethargic first half. The team responded with a strong second half for its 38th victory of the season.
Nash said he first felt soreness in the shoulder when he got out of bed Thursday and it has worsened since.
After Tuesday's game, the Suns don't play again until Friday, when they are home against Atlanta.
Nash is averaging career highs of 19.3 points and an NBA-leading 11.8 assists per game.

this is one of those games where you sit out and hope ur team loses and to show that ur really the mvp of team that cant be missed, yeh right against a portland team
Nash breaking down. No surprise there. It is getting close to playoff time.
Yea, because Nash has missed so many playoff games the last two years.![]()
He's saving himself for the skills challenge at All-Star weekend.
No, it is more likely his injury was caused from all the charges he takes in a game.![]()
we're not talking about raja bell. anyway, from the reports that i've seen on tv, they didn't really know the cause of his shoulder soreness, it could be anything although i think it's probably a very temporary, minor thing
Actually, I read somewhere recently that Nash takes the most charges on our team. I will have to do some research on this though. All Suns fan's hope this is a temporary minor thing.![]()
eh, he'll probably play on friday, and anyway, it's good for the team to play and win w/o nash, gives them more confidence...anyway, check out 82games.com, raja bell is number one in the league by a huge margin in drawing offensive fouls on opposing teams...nash is in the top 30 but something like the 20s or so
82games.com says that Raja Bell is 5th in the league in taking charges and Steve Nash is 6th for the 2006-2007 season.

i guess i was looking at the 05-06 season, raja's slipping but there's still another half of the season left...it's amazing that a big guy like bogut is first considering all the games he's missed from his injury
Amazing is correct... guess he's a "finesse" player?
Thanks Xylus, I was just going to post this but got interrupted by a phone call.![]()
This is a blessing in disguise. Nash needs the rest after all he is averaging 30 plus minutes per game. Luckily for them the next game is with the Hawks. I am sure that at least he will be ready for Chicago on Sunday.
