Brand new to the board. I have been a Spurs fan since 1994/1995 when we beat the Lakers 4-2 in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Look forward to getting to know everyone here.

I wanted to know which team do you fear the most in the playoffs? Is there a team or teams you feel match up very well with us.

    1. Suns
    2. Mavericks
    3 Jazz
    4 Rockets
    5 Lakers

Id go with the Mavericks and Lakers.

    Welcome to the forum.

I think the Mavericks would dominate the Spurs in a seven-game series right now. I don't fear the Suns or any other teams nearly as much as the Mavs.

I don't. The Spurs are worse and the Mavs are better. I think it would be over in five with how the Spurs are playing right now - I'm not saying by year's end it won't be different.

I agree we are not playing very well right now,but it's a long season. I think come playoff time,we will be right there with Dallas. It would come down to close games in the 4th quarter like always. I don't see them just blowing us out.

    Hate to break the news...

The season isn't that long anymore.

Right now--I'm afraid that aginst the Mavs, we'd be lucky to get even one win. I think the odds are better that they would sweep us.

all five teams worry me, they have all beat us multiple times this year except for the suns. The Spurs still have a game aginst all but LA so for me and probably the Spurs players and staff not to worry bout lossin to PHX, HOU , UTH, DAL .... they are gonna have to win these four games

I agree,i think we wil be able to turn it up in the playoffs. We are a veteren team that is already proven. I think were similair to how the Lakers were in 2001 and 2002 where they were very good in the regular season ,maybe 55 wins, but not over 60,but had the ability to turn it on in the playoffs.

Currently with Pops strategy i would feel comfortable that he could possibly get us past Dunleavy and the Clippers.

    The most "feared" would be
    Mavs
Suns (they aren't the old soft ball Suns)

The Mavs by far. We can get away with beating the Suns and the Jazz.

I know I'm not a Spurs fan, so I'll answer as a Mavs fan...I have learned from the heartbreak of last year's finals that I should have some degree of fear for every team, and not write a team, a game, or a series off.

Obviously the Suns are the team I feel to be the biggest threat to the Mavs right now, assuming that Nash is healthy and energized. Houston is better than they are given credit for a lot of the time. The Spurs may be floundering now, but they still have Tim Duncan, and with that you are never completely out of the running.

Straight answer...Suns. When healthy and on a roll, they scare the crap out of me.

    The SPURS

It's one thing to lose in the playoffs - only one team wins every series they play in.

BUT IF THE TEAM DOESN'T PULL ITS COLLECTIVE HEAD OUT OF ITS COLLECTIVE ASS, THEY WILL BE EMBARRASSED. This collective lack of effort, heart and will is just bleeding horrible. They play like this in the playoffs and I'm gonna be grouchy for a F'ing month...

Mavs would destroy the Spurs, in 5 games at most.
Rockets and Jazz would both beat them in a tough series, 6 or 7.
    Suns -- a pick 'em.

Spurs would beat the Lakers, or any of the lesser West teams.

Suns, Mavs, and a healthy Rockets. Actually a healthy Rockets if Tmac returns to 2003 form would could beat ANY team. But there is a small chance Tmac and Yao will both be 100% come playoff time.

If all teams were healthy the best are the Mavs, Suns, Spurs, and Rockets in no particular order. Each team could conceivably beat the other in a series. But at this point the Spurs look like the weakest of the bunch considering they have been healthy this year.

I don't see the Mavs as some indestructible force that would never let the Spurs reach a Game 6. They are a beatable team as well by the Suns and a healthy Rockets (huge asterisk again).

But as of right now it looks like the Mavs and Suns are pretty even and clearly the best in the league as of 2/12/2007.

but the thing about those lakers, is that they were not and old and beat up team, with 1 declining superstar, like the Spurs are. they were still young, and had 2 superstars. and in 01 Shaq missed 8 games, and in 02, he missed 15 games. if he didnt get hurt, they win 60 in both of those seasons, easily. this Spurs team does not have the ability to turn it on the way that those Laker teams could and would.
