Interesting...
what hurt the spurs is small ball you would think that if u play zone with a big line up and make teams play the spurs way they wold do better its not about first place at the end the season its about the playoffs.piston is a old team too they made one pick up with webber and now look whats going on now.the the spurs need to go big parker, barry, manu, horry, tim. this line up would work.

I agree. Small balls does not work for us. Past time for another game plan, Pop.
until the vets like Finley, Horry or Barry don't give what a bench is supposed to give (finley's shoot vs the Lakers was great but it's just not enough), i'll keep on thinking our men are too old for the wild wild west
We don't have the athletic players for this small ball crap! Play Spurs ball with the bigs! That's the way we've always won! Until we can get some young athletic players to replace Finley, Barry, and Horry, we play Spurs ball!
The Spurs don't have the rebounders to play small ball. Finley has some size, but he's a shooting guard, who plays an adequate 3, but a HORRIBLE 4. Again, the Spurs do not have the right personnel to play small ball.
yeah thats what we need because the spurs has been on top all these years and now there having problems fans are giving up on them just because we dont have big names.even woai riping the spurs. whats going to happen if the spurs make it all the way and when it all?
It's not a measure of giving up on the team, but giving up on the system of small ball! We realize what's wrong and can see the light even though Pop is too stubborn to admit it!We all love our Spurs, but lets be realistic!
During the last season, we played our way of play and had success! Pop played allass play of game (small ball) during the playoffs and suffered for it! We don't have the athletic players other than Timmy, Manu, Parker and Elson to play small ball. Until we get young athletic players, we just can't play small ball!![]()
Man, I hadn't thought of that...
I sent a link for this thread to Finley, Manu, Beno, and Oberto so they can spread the word...
you may be giving up.Mavs fan!![]()
The Spurs centers (like last year) aren't good enough to play "regular ball" against the better teams. And the Spurs don't rebound/defend well enough to play "small ball".
what about karrem rush, rodney rogers, eddie robinson would they make good pick for the spurs right now?
Maybe Barry, Finley, and Beno for those 3? Could turn the season around...
Are any of them even in the NBA right now?
Who do you want to drop to pick them up?
beno, oberto, butler because they dont play him he needs playing time
the spurs need to make "there" wide open shots.
I think this guy is on to something...
true...making there shots would prevent them from loosing games...they would when them instead...![]()
avery johnson is use the spurs blue print on def. He played for the spurs there use the box in one the spurs and 2,3 zone so now all teams see that and use the same thing.
And the easiest way the brake a zone is to make your wide open shots
avery johnson know the spurs weakness to score on the spurs def. and then jackson called teams and told them to how to play the spurs after the spurs won it in 2003
no leonard i just know that spurs always played the same way so why change now because the nba change its suck now look at all the fights now and bull thats going on

VERY interesting...
EXTREMELY interesting...
I is shore that if teh Spurs is played Oberto he wood be real gud center not small ball. Teh spurs dont get teh boreds but if they playd oberto moor they wood. But avery johnson he nose teh spurs defense and he toad the hole leak. Teh NBA lieks small ball that is why there is lots of fights sense teh spurs one it all.
