Wait; this is in addition to Nash, right? I'd say Deron and Ray before Manu.
Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson will not play in the 2007 NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 18 due to a sprained right ankle. The injury has forced him to miss seven of the last eight games and will sideline him for tomorrow night’s game at Minnesota. Iverson originally suffered the sprain against Charlotte on Jan. 29 and aggravated it on Feb. 7 against New Orleans/Oklahoma City.
“I’m very disappointed that I can’t play right now,” said Iverson. “I was really looking forward to representing the Nuggets in my first All-Star Game with the West. However, I need to make sure my ankle is 100 percent for the stretch run. I want to thank the Western Conference coaches for selecting me and my teammates and coaching staff for putting me in a position to succeed. I couldn’t have made it without them. I also want to thank all the fans who have supported me and that voted for me as a starter. I wish I could play for you all.”
Iverson, an eight-time NBA All-Star and MVP of the contest in 2001 and 2005, was voted to the 2007 squad by Western Conference coaches on Feb. 1. It was the first time he has been selected as a reserve. He has averaged 26.8 ppg, 7.8 apg and 2.00 spg in 20 games for the Nuggets since being acquired from Philadelphia on Dec. 19. He is averaging 28.7 ppg (tied for third in NBA), 7.6 apg (10th) and 2.09 spg on the year.
Denver’s first game after the All-Star break is Tuesday, Feb. 20 at San Antonio on TNT.
Maybe the most injury-plagued All-Star Game ever.
Wait; this is in addition to Nash, right? I'd say Deron and Ray before Manu.
Deron Williams and Ray Allen will go
In 100% agreeance with Body.
Ginobili just doesn't have the stats.
But he has more wins than Allen' we'll see.
Three Spurs players in the ASG! WoW!
He's been injured the whole year and his team's record sucks.![]()
in that case, give the jet a pass!
seriously, i think they should send deron and brand...ray allen is always all-star material and even though he scores a couple of more points than brand, brand gets way more rebounds and blocks and plays like 2-3 minutes less...i'd just like to see some new talent that's also deserving
okur and williams
Agree. Okur is great.
I say Williams, then Brand, then Ginobili, then Allen.
Manu has no chance in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Top candidates in order
1. Ray Allen - star appeal
2. Elton Brand - Better numbers then manu
3. Mehmet Okur - someone to rep jazz and low on centers unless u move a PF to C.
4. Zach Randolph - Good stats overall
5. Manu Ginobili - decent stats in a strong west, maybe unfair to have 3 players from a
3rd place team.
Manu is having better stats than his previous all-star year.
It's him or Williams/Okur, 50/50
Manu is going to need 2 or 3 more to make it. Lets face it he is not an allstar this year. As long as he plays like one in playoffs I will be happy.
D. Williams
Okur
Ray Allen
C. Paul
Slight chance
Odom, Manu, Brand, Terry
Zach is the most deserving to get in as a replacement. It's not even close.
yeah but is it still an all star game selection we're talking about?
i mean... it's soon gonna be Beno's turn !
Williams deserves it the most.
Okur and Allen have been named replacements

Ticket 760 just reported this as well. I didn't really think Manu had a shot.
What has gay ray done this year! He's been injured and he shouldn't be on the All Star Game!
