I know he seems to be trying to hard right now

I thought he would play better then last year
he is bigger and should finish better then last year

    he seems pressing some

I was just wondering if anyone has changed their mind yet here.

or should we just wait tell after 15 games and see if the new improved tp will show up then?

Around 20-25 games. I'm guessing that's when he'll find his stroke and produce more. Right now Manu's shining, Rasho's scoring. We got Brent taking up some shots. Duncan needs his 20 attempts. This game Bowen was on fire. So TP hasn't had a game where it was just about him.

I don't think you can judge a season after six games.

I think Tony will average close to 17/7.

Break out year? he's what? 5 years away from his prime?

TP will be fine. I'm happy with the way he is driving and passing and doesn't seem to mind that manu is scoring more points. TP will wind up scoring 15 a night; he needs to get passed the "I need to prove I'm worth 66 mil", then he'll be fine.

I see Tony hitting around 15 and 5 for the year.

Solid stats, but a far cry from an All Star as many on this message board continue to prop him up to be.

He will be lucky to average 15 pts and 5 assists. I think they should look into a trade while they still can get someone good for him. I think the Spurs should try to work a deal for Marbury. Marbury would love to come here and the Knicks should be looking for someone that can grow up with them, as they are rebuilding this year.

Tony averaged 14.5/5.5 last season. Why do you think he won't do at least the same this year?

Also, Tony barely makes any money -- so the Spurs aren't going to trade him now -- they wouldn't get anything in return.

TP should get around 16ppg 7apg. I'd be happy with that as long as he scores efficiently. To do that, he needs to hit his three a bit more reliably while getting to the line and making more free throws at a high %.

Eventually his drives will be converted. It will all come down to his court sense, scoring efficiency, and combining both consistently.

He should pick it up soon. He does seem to be pressing a bit, with the exception of the LA and Miami games.

The reason is, Manu and Barry will be taking up TP's score slack. Parker has almost no confidence and unless Pop tells him to continue shooting even if he is barely shooting 30%, I can not see him average what he did last year.
Why can't they trade him and another Spur for Marbury or someone close to that calibre? I know they won't, but I seriously do not have any confidence in Parker getting much better than he already is. Maybe I am wrong, hope I am, but so far, he has shown nothing at all this year.

I don't know why people think Parker has a confidence problem. He isn't unconfident at all. He's just pressing a little. It's six games.

This Steve Francis love affair has gone too far. Please tell me we aren't going to have to listen to this the whole season.

Well, I will give you the benefit of the doubt since you are on the inside, but daaaamn, he just sucks so far. His shots are not even close, has he even come close to making a 3 the past 4 games?

I'm certainly not for trading Parker, but if you hope that he is traded, tell me this: What other players would you want the Spurs to include in order to match salaries? Marbury makes several times more than Parker. Who else are you willing to part with?

I will stop when every one of you in here all see the light and agree that Francis is an allstar and is better than Parker. Or if Steve stops playing like an all star, which he won't.

I have no idea who makes what, as I am not that much of a fan that knows every player's salary. It probably can not happen, but if we had Stephon instead of Parker, the Spurs can win the championship for the next 6 yrs without breaking a sweat.

Jimcs50 must not have watched the Olympics. Marbury isn't a true point guard ... he's a shooting guard in a point guards body.

    Just like Steve Francis.
