whatever you say boss
Denver plays no D, Pistons couldn't hit their shots. I say this b/c I know Chumpdumper (respect) will say no we haven't proved anything, which is true. But looking at our defense the last 3 games, I pose the question, are we starting to turn the corner and getting ready to crank it up? As Whott would say... Discuss. One last thinq... TONY PARKER IS THE MUTHA ING TRUTH!

That's not enough homie. I need an opinion!
I think you guys start one of these after every win. There's your opinion.
Lol but honestly it looks like they're headed in the right direction.
One win means nothing. When we will win 10 in a row then start to make this kind of threads.
C'mon man... this isn't about a win, it's about defensive playAnd to w/ that Mavs fan

I say yes. But I always knew the Spurs would pull it together unlike most of the posters on this board who doubted them.
Don't see why not.
Although Im sure there were things tonight that they will point to to say "SEE THEY HAVENT YET THEY STINK!!!"
While, the bench and the guys outside of the big 3 have been ty, I still always felt they were kind of "coasting"... Not saying it's right or we'd be tied w/ dallas or anything. I just never got a sense we were playing our best out there. I hope to I'm right. I'm going to stick to my guns and say come the 2nd week in March we will be up to speed!
hope its later.
I always prefer that the team peak right around April 14th
Come on Spurs, win 15 straight!
are we still on target for 57 wins?
we'd have to go 21-7 the rest of the way. Seems completely do-able, with the Spurs schedule pretty easy the rest of the season, and with them starting to gain momentum, as long as they don't lose any of the rest of February: games vs the Sonics, Raptors, and Hawks.
It's 2 freakin games
It's not the record I'm concerned with. It's the intensity in the games they play in. I just liked the hustle I've seen the past 3 games. I think it says they ae ready to turn it on. Normally, that would have been during the rrt, but I'll take it now if we can get this back 3 back and get on a roll. You know, some may disagree, but I'm really liking the play of Vaughn coming off the bench right now, and I'd keep Manu that way too unless we get Magette somehow.
3 games, and as I stated earlier, it's not the win, it's the defensive intensityGod Dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's three games with a week between games 2 and 3. Come on, the Spurs have been inconsistent for...well, what have they been consistently good at this year? Free throws? Hallelujah. The problem I do see is something you nailed on the head - Intensity. Without that, shots don't fall, rebounds and calls don't come your way, and the loses start piling on.
I hope the intensity is now stepping up but I think we are a long way away from winning 12 in a row. Won't happen. Intensity can cover up most of our faults but poor rotations, consistent weakside play big man play, and over-reliance on the jump shot are fundamental problems that will need to be sussed out over time.
I still would like to see one more trade here with Oberto involved.
the only way we'd turn the corner is winning a championship, anything else is failure
but tonight is not even a start, a 10 game winning streak is a start. and Manu is the in truth! he singlehandedly built the first 10pt lead.
At least it is a sign. I just hope these last three wins don't fool the Spurs into thinking that they don't need to explore trades, I'm not convinced yet.
, I'd take a 7 game win streak at this point. How about 9-12 games?
As if the Spurs were going to finish 48-34 or some such foolishness. They're still not "fixed."
To me, the answer is no. As brilliantly as the big 3 played, especially Parker (echo your comments on him being the truth!), the other role players didn't show enough to prove they could step up when one of the big 3 is having an off night. Their extended on-court time wasn't exactly awe-inspiring or even confidence-boosting...
I did appreciate the defensive effort, but I would personally like to see it consistently over like a 10 game stretch.
Bottom Line: You can put makeup on a pig, but it's still a pig. Granted the Spurs are like a prize-winning pig, but they still don't look as good as those girls from Victoria's Secret catalogs (aka Mavs/Suns), know what I'm saying??? Dizzying logic I know...
If the Spurs continue the smothering defense they played through the first 3 quarters last night, it will certainly help right the ship.
The dynamic duo of AI and Mello appeared totally frustrated most of the time they were on the the floor.
What you really had to appreciate was the way the Spurs were going after loose balls on the floor, despite have a 20 plus point lead.
Gotta love the way Vaughn has stepped up to give Tony some rest here and there. He is a hustler.
Keep up the energy level of last night, and the Spurs will be Okay.
