they are on the ir
Right now he could be developing his younger players in White, Ely and Butler. Instead we have to see Finley, Oberto, Vaughn, Beno and Bonner play during mop up time...
This mother er hasn't learned a got damn thing from his losses to the top teams in the NBA....
Is he fukin dumb or what? Why in the do you have 3 youngsters watching in suits???? IN A man.....

they are on the ir
No Jeffie.
Pop should rotate one of those 3 guys to give them a chance in games like today
Oberto and Beno could sit on IL
Finley needs more playing time than Butler or White. That old bas needs to start hitting shots because you know he will be in at critical times in the playoffs.
duncan should sit on the il and give them a chance to play
after all sequ thinks he is a dumb ass anyhow
Why the is Ely on the IL instead of Oberto? At least Ely has potential to get better and can't be any worse than Oberto.....how he even made the NBA is beyond me.
mike had 5 assist tonight
And you're a ing moron. Diop gets more blocks in one game than Oberto has in his career.
only mavs fans get mad for a joke...

who's mad? I was hoping you're joking but I don't know what to think anymore after I saw the crap that Jeffdrums guy was writing....
Beno should be parking cars.
Exactly! I thought the same thing. Pretty funny. Some of these fans are fun to antagonize.![]()
He didn't play half bad tonight. I honestly think Beno does better when the expectations for him are at zero. I say he didn't play half bad because I expected him to miss every shot and have 6 turnovers in 10 minutes...![]()
Beno has already proved himself. He should be parking cars.
I honestly don't think the final chapter has been written with Beno and the Spurs. Obviously he's here to stay until summertime and he started off with such promise. It seems funny to say that a team can't get an accurate read on a player after 3 years with the team, but Beno has really been so inconsistent that the Spurs might actually benefit from the next few months of evaluating him. I'm sure he'll be showcased in plenty of trade talk during the off-season, but I doubt the Spurs have written him off completely as you suggest.
beno will be packaged to move up in the draft
If you want to make a point that White, Ely and Butler can do more for the team this year than Finley, Oberto, Vaughn, and Beno we would be glad to discuss your reasoning.
If you can't make that point you need to spare us your childish tirades and try to think before you spew. Until the NBA makes a rule that you can activate players in the middle games, your post is shallow and ignorant.
There is not a coach in the league that would want to go into any playoff series with your mentioned projects than with proven role players. The Spurs are just getting to the point where they start to hit their playoff stride. They have won five in a row by playing better team defense and solid bench production.
Back to the issue of this thread...
Pop can't know which games will be blowouts and which games will be in close contention. He can't know who will have off-nights and who will get into foul trouble. His job is to put the 12 players most capable of helping the team win on that bench. If he feels that Oberto gives them a chance over Ely and that Beno gives them a better chance than White, he should go with those players.
Player development is done in practice and during the off-season for Championship teams. If you want the players to develop that badly, hope that one of the big 3 goes down with an injury (Wade-style), then you'll see your James White, Melvin Ely, and Jackie Butler. I, for one, am happy the Spurs don't have to employ developmental players on the regular 12-man roster...
What would he get you there? Five spots in the late second round?
Pop is a genius, some spurs fans even wanted that great pt. guard Luke from Seattle. How was he tonight?
Proven role players?![]()
Rating Finley and Oberto "proven role players" only took one beer or two. I will give you, the last two took a case. But with White, Butler and Ely you would pass out before you could get there.![]()
