Seriously. A 4.35 40 is impressive in and of itself but at his size? "Un-friggin-believable".
Saw this on Sportscenter this morning and found it on ESPN.com just now. He's 240lb instead of the 225 they predicted, but he didn't look chunky (a la Mike Williams) and he certainly didn't run like he was out of shape. Undeniably this kid is the top talent in the draft, and maybe the top WR since Moss....could he be more talented? He's at least not one-tenth the headcase...

Exactly...
BTW, you wouldn't happen to live in Georgia and be married to a devilishly handsome guy named Keith would you??? Just kidding (wife's name is Katy, also a Spurs fan)

Hmm nope but my dad's name is Keith.
Johnson is can't miss. Adrian Peterson looks freakish too. AP ran a 4.38.
Too bad he can't finish a 10 game season without an injury.
They used to call AP, AD for "All Day"....until he got injured. Now he only runs in 4.38 second increments![]()
Just kidding. If Willis McGahee can get taken 23rd less than 6 months after suffering a three-ligament tear in his knee, Adrian Peterson (arguably an equally talented RB) can snuff off some past nagging injuries. He'll go top 5 for sure.
Are you a lean 240 and have velcro for hands?
I bet you ran one of those highschool timed 4.44. Those things are such bull. NFL timed 4.35 is blazing= to a 3.9 highschool timed 40.
there are a lot of great and fast athletes that never made it in pro ball, and its b/c they couldn't play the sport as well as others. being fast only takes you so far...in the NFL agility is much more important than being fast. how fast can you change direction, how good is your vision, do you have balance, do you know the game, can you keep your head? emmitt smith ran a 4.6 40 and jerry rice around a 4.5....i think those guys are pretty good players, are they not? can you play the sport, thats what matters...
i was just joking i run a 5.2
calvin johnson is a beast no doubt about that
I didn't even post a comment because I knew NorCal could never run a 4.4 just like JGW thinks he is faster than Tony Parker.
thinks? i know i am. granted 'kill him' may be taking it a bit far, but i was making a point.
You're right in general that his size/speed combonation will only get him so far. But what makes him easily the best prospect in this draft is that size/speed combo, plus great hands, plus route-running, plus work ethic, and so on and so forth. I understand what you're saying (though it's not every day a guy with his measurables runs a 4.35), but this kid has the goods....
JGW post a pic up of yourself i wanna see how "athletic" u claim to be...
He is 5'10" 270 lbs![]()
Calvin Johnson will be a Raider or a Lion, presuming someone doesn't throw the kitchen sink at either team to try and trade up.
Sorry guys, I'm not gay but......JGW = Shorter than GIG but thicker and just as ripped. I think GIG and JGW would have the lowest bodyfat % of the entire board.
I'm pretty sure JGW wouldn't have any probs picking up whomever he wanted.....within reason of course.
where are u gettin your info from? how come JGW doesnt show his penis off like GiG?
ha ha, ironically i just got back from a workout. i try to do 2 workouts a week outside of practice. in any case, how do you know what i look like?
Norcal-
...hmm, i am not really a picture guy but my myspace is http://www.myspace.com/knowthyself_jgw
all of those pics are at least over a year old, but i guess i look about the same, probably a bit bigger as i worked hard to get ready for rugby this season. anyway....
as for not showing off or showing my penis?...no offense to gig, but thats not my style. i am pretty much against all that garbage.

Someone will throw a couple picks at the Lions, and they should take the deal. It seems that every WR they take as a cant-miss guy goes wrong.
Charles Rogers was a 6'3, 210lb guy that ran a 4.2 and was a good character guy. What happened? Injury derailed his promising start and he never got it together. BTW, where is he now?
Mike Williams was a 6'5, 230lb guy with great hands and leaping ability. A great possession receiver. He turned out to be a lazy primadonna, got fat, couldn't run routes, and has been a major disappiontment.
Roy Williams, who is by far the best of the group, has good hands, quick feet, and an ability to catch the ball. Too bad he, or his team for that matter, can never live up to his own hype. He hasn't been a locker room problem yet, but I do see a little TO in him.
Bottom Line: Every cant-miss surefire WR prospect the Lions have drafted in the first round has turned out to be less than anticipated. The guys they have success with are the late-round Mike Furrey's, etc.
They should take a lesson from the past, and learn to pass on the surefire WR...
. The Lions best receiver a couple years ago was an undrafted player. Last year, a converted safety. , the Lions backup quarterback had more catches than Mike Williams at a point last season.
Just an FYI, Rogers recently worked out for the Chiefs and ran a 4.9 40.
That sucks man. From #2 to nothing in 4 short years...
