No Randy Moss, eh?
The Patriots continued their offseason spending spree, adding wide receiver Donte' Stallworth to their 2007 haul, a league source told ESPN.com's Michael Smith.

The Eagles' front office is a piece of . They have so much money available to use and decide to not give their best receiver any offers. Jackasses.
I guess Avant and Basket will be the stars this year...
Nah they have that one kid, BRown. He's not bad. Wow the Patriots are really acting un-Patriot like this offseason. Makes you wonder how much money Branch wanted. How much did they have at the start of FA? I know they gave Thomas like 22mil guaranteed.
His stats are meh. Altho he did catch 70 in 2004.
Or is Belichek going to rehab him ala Reeche Caldwell?
Wont matter. They will still make the playoffs due to a weakass division but they wont win the superbowl. They had their fun and will be nothing like the 04/05 team again.
He caught 70 in 05, and last year he had over 700 yards and 5 tds in only 12 games. He also had a 19 yard a catch average which is ridicoulous. Adding him and Welker will be huge for this offense
Agreed this Sallworth has the speed to make them even more dangerous in the air. As far as Welker (coming from a Dolphins fan) he is not flashy and not a great return guy. But he is a hard worker and a hustler, expect great things from him in this offense. He will be missed by Phins fans.
If you look at their recievers now, with Caldwell, Stallworth, Welker, Chad Jackson, and Gaffney (if they dont cut him), with Watson lining up at te, this offense is going to be very dangerous
5 above average recievers+Tom Brady+maroney+good line= Super bowl?
+ Adalius Thomas to an already good defense, yea, I could definately see them winning it all, barring injurys

They wont so stop blowing them. They arent that good and yet people continue to overrate this team. They were very fortunate to beat the Chargers this year and they were due to get eliminated in heart break fashion. People using injuries and the pats beating themselves as excuses for why they lost these 2 years.
The love fest for a team in a horrible division is really getting pathetic. They also dont own the Colts anymore. Last years loss ended this so called "dynasty" era. No more superbowls the league has caught up to those heads.

I agrre with some of your points. But you dont win 3 SB by just being you. It takes a good FO, great team chemistry, and a crazzy bas like Belichick
They had their time. Beli 's crazy coaching can be adjusted to now. Times have changed.
You are truly an idiot if you think this team has no chance. Got lucky beating San Diego? Teams dont get lucky in the NFL, they earn their victories. This team was almost in the Super Bowl last year, with really no recievers. I hate the Pats more than any team, but to say this team has no chance means you either dont know about football, or you are just a true hater that is blinded by their hate. Stupidest take I have ever read
They arent done yet

Washington joins rebuilt Pats WR corpsBy Len Pasquarelli

Continuing the wholesale overhaul of their wide receiver corps, the New England Patriots on Monday reached a contract agreement with unrestricted free agent Kelley Washington, who played the first four seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The deal can be for as many as five years, with a maximum value of $22 million, but is also structured so that it could be as short as just one season. Washington will receive a signing bonus of $300,000.
As is the case with the six-year contract agreed to with New England by wide receiver Donte Stallworth on Sunday, the Patriots must pick up an option payment to retain the speedy Washington beyond the 2007 season. It is believed that payment is $4 million.
"I am happy to be a part of such a great franchise, and to have the opportunity to help the Patriots get back and win another Super Bowl," Washington said. "The privilege to play with arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all time, Tom Brady, and to be coached by someone like Bill Belichick is a blessing. I am very excited about contributing to the New England Patriots."
Washington also had a contract offer from the Miami Dolphins.
One of the most active franchises in the early free agent market, the Patriots have been particularly aggressive in rebuilding a wide receiver corps that was a major disappointment in 2006. In addition to signing Stallworth and Washington, the Patriots acquired restricted wide receiver Wes Welker from the Dolphins last week for second- and seventh-round choices in this year's draft.
The gamble on Washington is a solid one, given that the Patriots appear to have made a fairly modest initial investment for a player who has enormous physical upside if he can stay healthy and play to his potential.
Washington, 27, is a big, speedy wide receiver whose career has been stalled by a series of injuries at both the college and professional levels. The former University of Tennessee wideout played only one full season for the Volunteers before leaving school early for the 2003 draft.
A third-round choice of the Bengals in 2003, he has 72 receptions for 893 yards and nine touchdowns in 44 games, including six starts. His best season was in 2004, when Washington registered 31 receptions for 378 yards and three touchdowns.

That Troy Brown strip, along with the chargers own mental mistakes won the Pats that game. I agree to say they have no chance is stupid but to say they have a better chance then the colts or other teams in the afc could be pushing it.
I wasnt saying they have a better chance than antone else in the AFC, just that they have as good a chance as anyone else. As far as what won the Pats that game, mental toughness is as important to a team as anything, meaning that its wasnt luck that the Pats won.
A muffed punt by Eric Parker and a fumbled interception by McCree had nothing to do with the Pats "mental toughness".
No, it has to do with the Chargers, which they had none of
The Pats were lucky. The game was handed to them. I don't see how you can look past that.
