Pull for the Suns, I think San Antonio can beat both of them anyway.
Are we trying to overtake the Suns and thus hope the Mavs beat them?
Or do we pull for the Mavs' opposition, regardless of who that might be?

I want the Mavs to win what they're supposed to win. Just show everyone Phoenix isn't all that high and mighty in the league with their showboat offense
We pull for the Mavs. Although they are our mortal enemies, our chances of catching the Suns are greater. We've got to hope the Suns will lose a few more and we can overtake the 2 seed. Catching the Mavs will be difficult. The chances of them losing 5 or 6 games is unlikely and even if we continue our streak. So the no brainer is to pull for the Mavs. Let them have regular season glory. It will be history once the playoffs start.
Either way, its a win-win situation for us.
I love this question.
I love it because I can't answer it.
Pull for the Mavs so the Spurs can get closer to catching Phoenix. There's no way they can catch the Mavs anyway.
WC Seeded 2nd or 3rd (the only thing the Spurs have to play for), the Spurs open with Lakers or Nuggs. Doesn't really make any difference.
I expect Pop, not caring about trying for 2nd seed, will tank some games in April, so rooting for a Suns' L (which is not the same as rooting for a Mavs W) so the Spurs get 2nd seed is pointless.
Spurs fans are pulling for the arena roof to fall in...
failing that,
it doesn't much matter. Call it the Suns - I don't think we will catch the Suns, and I don't think they will catch the Mavs. However, a tightened race between the 2 teams will for both to play their starters more in the regular season; so as to avoid playing us in the 2nd round. Every little bit of wear and tear counts...
I think it's all about rooting for the Mavericks, too. Catching Phoenix becomes more feasible if Dallas takes each of the next two against the Suns. If the Mavs do that and the Spurs beat the Suns in early April in SA, the difference will only be one game with the Spurs holding the tiebreaker. The Suns' closing schedule is probably more difficult than the Spurs' but not that much more difficult. Every bit helps.
i guess for this time i want the mavs to win.
Pull for a Meteor to crash into the Arena. Or a 5 OT game in which every player on both teams Tony Allen themselves.
Failing that, pull for the Mavs because they are the less douchy of the two teams.
Why would you spurs fans care about pulling for either team? Seriously why would you care about the number 2 seed if your going to be in the playoffs anyway? This game should have no meaning for the spurs at all. No one is catching Dallas and theirs nothing important about taking the 2 seed from the suns.
I don't want Cuban getting to 70, but D'Antoni is a bag too, so this is tough
Goooooooooo Mavs!
Man, that left a sour taste in my mouth![]()
I want the Mavs to lose 2 in a row.
I just cant bring myself to utter that..

but in order to catch Phx, dallas needs a W tonite.
I'd rather see the Suns lose.
While I don't see Pop going to any great lengths to take that second seed, I do anticipate he will try to make sure the Spurs hold on to the third seed, which is looking much more attractive than the fourth.
Utah lost last night, but I don't expect them to fall much further behind the Spurs.
So, if the Spurs are going to be fighting to keep the third seed anyway (which they may or may not do), it would be great if they could overtake Phoenix in the process.
I'd disagree with that. The notion of a first round series against Denver, the Clippers, Sacramento, Golden State, or the Hornets has more appeal to me, as a Spurs fan, than a series against the Lakers. I'm not saying the Spurs would win any of those series, but I think their chances to advance would be much better if they could avoid the Lakers.
Plus, if the Spurs are #2 and manage to advance, they'd have HCA in Round 2 no matter who they might meet. That's a worthwhile advantage to seek, too.
the best is when D'Antoni throws his hissy fit and starts yelling at the refs...i believe i've heard it described as being "like when Ron Burgundy began throwing things and yelling "what is this, amateur hour!?!"
we'll see that in the second round anyway.
I'm pulling for a Malice in the Palace style brawl with the game tied at the end of regulation resulting both teams being given a loss and huge suspensions. If I can't have that I guess I'll pull for the Mmmmmm...I mean, I might as well cheer for the Maaaaaaaa...I don't think I can finish this sentence.![]()
i prefer the mavs to win, but both bag teams.....
doesnt matter if we dont catch the suns, i believe that this team can win without HCA
in tim duncan i trust.
i would rather hit my balls continuously with a mallet than root for either team.
