Good signing if he can stay healthy. The offense is really coming together. Now they can concentrate on the dline and secondary in the draft. Great offseason.

Colts exodus continues as Stokley, Broncos agree
    By John Clayton
    ESPN.com

The Denver Broncos, looking for a dependable pass-catcher, reached a one-year agreement with former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Brandon Stokley.

Terms of the deal weren't available but Stokley did not sign for just the veteran minimum salary. He signed a contract in excess of $1 million a year, but the amount wasn't immediately known. Incentives were built into the contract because Stokley is coming off an Achilles tendon tear.

Stokley had also been talking to the New Orleans Saints, who are looking for a veteran after the release of Joe Horn.

Considered one of the most dependable inside slot receivers, Stokley should help Jay Cutler with passes in the middle of the field.

Its not him Im worried about, they have no viable 2nd option, Smith is old as dirt, and marshall is more of a third. I think he will make some plays if he can stay healthy, but he wont have a huge year or anything, 400 to 600 yards I think

Stokley and Marshall are slot guys, well Marshall has more speed, but mardigan you think they'll go for a WR in the draft to basically replace Smith for 08'? I think at 21 they'll have some good options but they need some safety depth and are dying for a pass rush. I think Champ would have had more than 10 INT's this year with a Shaun Phillips-Shawne Merriman type of pass rush, but those guys are the elite at that so yeah, you probaly wont find that very easily. Also do you know if Phillips is going to be a FA next year? Did they franchise him or what?

Your right about them both being slot guys, and I am not sure how Smith will be after his hip surgery, so I think they definately will have to look for a number 2 in the draft. I still think with their 1st they will be drafting Carriker or Moss to shore up their d-line, so I think they will probably try to trade up in the second and try to get a Sidney Rice, or a Robert Meachem or a Dwayne Bowe. Bottom line is for a team that needs a reciever, this year is a godsend, they will get someone I think they will be able to plug in, and after that happens, watch out, because they will be able to run a mean 4 wide set, especially because Henry is a pretty good blocker.

I wish the Cowboys could have got him. They think they have so much depth at receiver, but I dont see it.

I see it, Crayton is underated, and Im pretty sure no team is going to give up a second round pick for him, Hurd is just going to get better, and Austin averaged 26 yards on returns last year. Next year will be the year we get a new reciever in there

For those of you that think Marshall is a slot guy, grab some Broncos tape from the last 5 games. He's an outside deep threat.

Yea, I just looked at the last 5 games, and if it wasnt for the Seattle game where he had 1 catch for 71 yards, his yards per catch would have been tremendously low. Aside from that game, didnt seem like he was much of a deep threat at all, with his best game being 4 catches for 65 yards against the Bengals. And since he didnt start, I would guess that he would have been subbed in for Smith some plays and in the slot. Im not saying he wont be a good starter, just that he isnt proven right now.

This is great and all, but for some reason that is totally beyond me, the Broncos are shopping Al Wilson.

I agree as usual. I still think with the cowboys being high on watkins, signing hamlin i think they might consider drafting Meacham with their first round pick. Their would also be a couple of really good O-linemen left and possibly merriweather. I guess it will all depend on their defensive strategy but I would think them drafting a safety in the first might signify they could be considering moving Roy to lb, e ially with Hamlin able to play SS. I might be reaching but it is what I do with my freetime.

^^I think the Cowboys are in a position for the first time in a long time that we dont have to draft for need, we can just take the best available player. Although, I would really like to see them take a pass rusher, either d-end or lb
