Kevin Durant had one of the best all time individual statistical seasons in the history of college basketball.
Dude is good.
how good Kevin Durant is? why he commands so much commotion & attention?
Is he from what part of Texas? Is he a better player than Oden?
sorry for posting this on this forum.![]()
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NBA fined Charlotte Bobcats part-owner Michael Jordan $15,000 for discussing Texas freshman Kevin Durant during an interview last week.
Team coaches and executives are barred from talking about underclassmen who have yet to declare for the NBA draft. But in an interview with The Charlotte Observer last Tuesday, Jordan said he was interested in versatile players and added, "The kid who may present that is the kid in Texas. (He) may have that because he has all the right signs."
A Bobcats spokesman Tuesday confirmed the fine, which is at least the second in a week for an NBA team involving Durant, the 6-foot-10 forward who is expected to be the first or second overall pick if he declares for the draft.
The Boston Celtics were fined $30,000 after general manager Danny Ainge sat next to Durant's mother during the Big 12 tournament.-AP

Dude is good.
Milkyway - Yes, he's awesome. He will be the number 1 or number 2 pick in the draft. He attends University of Texas (which is in Austin).
You can read this and learn a little about him:

Durant and Oden are two different types of player, but both are going to be superstars IMO.
Happy to help. Well Im not a "expert" like some people on here, but I'll give you my take. well he's like 6'9'', and most noticeably he's good at perimeter shots. To me, he's kinda like T-Mac, except he's more efficient at rebounds. Also he's fast and has good ball handling skills for a big, not TP good, but above average. What I like to compare him to is like a Kevin Garnett that can shoots 3's. Yeah thats better than a T Mac comparision. The only knock against him is I guess his strength, buts he's only 18, and should develop some more. He could use some D help, but he led Texas in blocks and steals.
A sure fire 1-2 top overall pick, and in 2 to 3 years will be the next NBA superstar. As for him being better than Oden, well, Oden put up good numbers at Ohio State, and played for much of the year with a bad right hand. People say one of the hardest things to find nowadays is a good C, and most everyone has called Oden the best big man since like Tim, to have come out of college. Just depends on what you'd like more over the other. Someone told me on here that it'd be better to have a 2nd overall pick, that way you wouldn't have the burden of which one to choose. Oden will be a force, and Durant as well.
Persoannly, I'd take Oden, simply because you could find a guy somewhat like durant elsewhere. Oden is once in a decade. That's all IMO.
Durant > Oden X100
Durant could very possibly change the league, he is that good, and yes, Durant>Oden X10
durant is a mcgrady type player and oden looks like robert parish
@ people thinking Durant is that much better than Oden
@ people thinking hes not
I can see some people thinking he might be better than Oden.
But 10 x better? 100 x better? Statements like that make people look like idiots.
thanks much. I'm so clueless about him. All I read all yr is Oden, Oden and Oden.![]()
Anything about Michael Jordan is big news in the Phils. And now that Michael being fined for something bec of Durant makes me wonder about him. And then HE IS from texas.
i think this makes the next draft worth watching for.
Well I get that a lot. I really think that Durant is much, much better, maybe not 10X better, but a lot better. Oden doesnt even look like he will be a Dwight Howard level player, more like a Chandler, where I think that Kevin could eventually be one of the best players in the league.

you didn't think you're overrating him him huh, Sequ? 100x?![]()
Well Oden played with one hand pretty much this year.
I think Oden is going to be amazing.
Durant too though. But I just think it's funny when people think one of them is 100 times better than the other.
Oden will be like Dikembe Mutombo, only with a markedly better offensive game.
I'll bet Oden peaks around 22-13.5-3.2, with career averages of 15-12-2.6. He'll also shoot <55% most seasons.
Durant is probably as good as advertised, but I would take Oden ahead of Durant. It's a big man bias I have, I'll admit it.
that link by Kori mentioned Durant as one with a laid-back personality. You think he can be a good franchise player? One player a team can start building around like Shaq w/ the Lakers or LeBron w/ the Cavs, Duncan w/ the Spurs in the 2000 era. Is he good enough to carry a team in the future such as MJ's Bobcats? We can see that Howard/Bosh future with their respective teams are shining bright right now.
i'd take durant over oden all day. oden'll be good, but durant will rise faster imo. either of them in a sac jersey would be amazing.
Memphis, Boston, Seattle, Bobcats.....wowlot of compe ion right there.

agreed. some meaningless wins this season..
Durant also has the youth advantage... isn't Greg Oden like 35 years old?
why i have this feeling that Boston might take the #1 or #2 pick this yr's draft?
They failed on Duncan they will make a run on Oden or Durant.
Does everyone realize that Oden has been doing everything left-handed all year long? The key point of this being that, just like Inigo Montoya, Greg Oden is NOT left-handed.
