3 steps.
Just watched the replay.
Spurs in half court D. Manu tips the ball away from Pacer.
Ball scoots over to Elson at the free throw line area.
Can i get a high five on the Elson dribble 3/4s of the court and dunk with a defender on him all the way.![]()

Made it 53-43 6:41 3rd qtr.
I think Tim got jealous and so streaked down the lane for the feed from Parker the next play or two.
The runnin Spurs? Did Pop have a dream and take over Don Nelsons body for a night? Tark?
Actually i believe Elson could fast break run constantly.
Who has frame by frame. Did he really travel or is Sequ being rainy?
he traveled.
3 steps is legal for Kobe and Lebron, so why not everyone else??
It was three steps but who's counting?
"Run Francisco Run!"![]()
Reminds me of a Lynard Skynard song.
"Give me 3 steps, give me 3 steps mister, give me 3 steps toward the door"
Very true....a lot of players get away with it, MJ did it half the time too. Let Cisco Walk!!!3 steps is legal for Kobe and Lebron, so why not everyone else??![]()
Kobe gets 2 1/2 steps... that's okay.
frankie did take 3 steps, but i was more impressed with the fact that our 7'0 center dribbled almost the length of the court with his left hand and didn't get it swiped.
He did indeed travel. I was just shocked that he dribbled all the way down with full control and actually dunking the ball!
As long as the official sees the member controlling the ball on the dribble, it will be an automatic two points. That's how the NBA does it.
...further adding to the legend of Elson...![]()
Understandable...Spurs fans aren't used to seeing a 7 footer dribble the length of the floor and dunk![]()
At least we have the integrity to admit he walked . . . something you'd never see from Mav Fan.
That's assuming that Mav Fan even knew the rule existed, of course.
7-footers are allowed to take 3 steps...look it up. And he dunked. If he had missed a weak layup, then they would've called a travel.
Hey....I once saw Will Perdue take a pass at halfcourt and take it in for an uncontested dunk! (ok..he was taking his time getting upcourt and that is why he was at halfcourt)Understandable...Spurs fans aren't used to seeing a 7 footer dribble the length of the floor and dunk

Ok...except for that play![]()

David Robinson could definitely do it. Duncan leads breaks all the time as well, but of course, Duncan is "only" 6'11"
We aren't used to seeing 7 footers launch soft 3 pters though.
Yeah we were never used to seeing David Robinson do it at all.
More intelligence from "mavs fan"
christ...

I was more referring to THIS season...and it was meant with a bit of sarcasm, but think what you'd like![]()
Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if any posters who saw the play are not impacted.
Any links for that dunk? Game was not shown here.
