I assume that most of you here think that Chris Paul is a better PG than TP but still... I don't believe C Paul would put the same numbers if he was a spur whereas TP would dramatically increase his if he was a Hornet PG

Don't know if I buy that, and I'm a big Parker fan. I think Parker is incredibly valuable to this team and he gives the Spurs a shot at winning it all, but he is not the complete guard that Paul is...that's not to say he isn't better than Paul right now.

but my point is: can you really compare two PGs playing for two very different teams and team mates?

I don't think Paul is better than TP. I think he has a good chance to eventually be better.

The Mavs limited Paul last night by just staying in front of him. You can't do that to TP no matter how hard you try.

Paul has the big advantage of much more athleticism and physical solidity.

I think Paul has better court vision and passing than Tony. Both can score, both are very quick.

TP would average 30ppg in the Hornets. But Hornets would probably have a worse record.

    Parker-better scorer
    Paul-better passer
Paul on the SPurs would not do us good as we need Tonys scoring and fouls that he draws in the lane

Paul is certainly more stocky, but I don't think he is as fast as Tony. Tony's inside game is much more advanced than Paul's as he can finish with either hand with a variety of layups in a bunch of traffic, but Paul has the ability to step back and hit from anywhere on the court.

Agree that Paul's vision is much better than Tony's, as Tony sometimes "zones in" to score or to pass to one person. I've seen him make some pretty decent passes to 2nd and 3rd options, showing improvement in that area, but he's not at Paul's level.

Again, I think Paul has a better all-around game than Tony, but agree with Mabber that Tony can just flat-out take a game over with his speed, ability to finish...Paul's offense is more limited as of right now.

bottom line is: both are still very young and might eventually improve into something like hall of famers...

Paul may be a little better passer than Tony (it's not that drastic). But Tony is a much better scorer and even a better shooter.

But what the heck is the point of threads like these?

Should we start one comparing every Spurs player to every other person in the league at their position?
