Don't we already have a thread or two about this Gonzalez situation?
Could use a bit more make-up and a restyled do
RawstoryMultiple sources reported today that a top aide to President George W. Bush's key adviser Karl Rove will soon step down from her job in the White House. The aide, Sara M. Taylor, was identified in yesterday's hearing with a former top Justice Department official as seeking the resignation of a US Attorney in Arkansas. She could still face a subpoena, RAW STORY learned.
Last week, the House and Senate Judiciary Committees authorized subpoenas of Scott Jennings, a deputy to Taylor, who is a top aide to Karl Rove. A House Judiciary Committee aide told RAW STORY she could still face a subpoena today.
"The people for whom subpoenas were authorized were a result of the do ent review, and it could be could be that Jennings' name was more prevalent," said a House Judiciary Committee aide. "Other subpoenas can be authorized or issued should any other names come up."
Taylor and Jennings were both fingered yesterday by Kyle Sampson, the former chief of staff to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, as playing key roles in the elevation of Tim Griffin, a top staffer in the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign and a Army Judge Advocate General, as the interim US Attorney for Arkansas in place of Bud mins.
slowly pealing the corruption onion
Don't we already have a thread or two about this Gonzalez situation?
she's resigning from embarrassment after seeing Rove "rap" at the correspondents dinner.
we need a active link to that...
RawstoryA previously overlooked e-mail from the Department of Justice do ent dump may turn out to be a smoking gun, of sorts, that links White House Adviser Karl Rove to the US Attorney firing scandal, reports Newsweek.
"New Mexico Republican Sen. Pete Domenici's chief of staff sent a cryptic thank-you note to Karl Rove just as the senator was recommending replacements for David Iglesias, the fired U.S. attorney in New Mexico, according to internal White House and Justice Department do ents," writes Michael Isikoff.
"Thanks for everything," read the e-mail, dated January 8th, 2007, which included the name of a replacement candidate for Iglesias' position.
The email, which was sent to Rove and two other White House officials, may have been initially overlooked because it was sent to a more obscure e-mail account of Rove's.
"the problem we have with Carol Lam"... yeah, that she was onto the WH lying about giving money, through a no bid contract, which was then funneled into buying a boat for the Dukester Cunningham. Talk about paying Senators and Congress members for votes.
I'd do her..even though she's a republican![]()
See, this is what I'm talking about - Dan starts this thread and makes his comment about peeling the corruption onion when this whole affair isn't even a scandal - yet he completely ignores the story about Sen. Feinstein!
It's a scandal. Folks don't resign over a non-story.
Two so far. More to follow.
Count on it.
blind-squirrel Crooky thinks the $100M nut she found is some kind of counter-weight to the $Bs pocketed by Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater, etc, etc.
Turns out that Monica Goodling is a Pat Robertson domininist...
Monica Goodling, One of 150 Pat Robertson Cadres in the Bush Admin
by Max Blumenthal
Huff Post

Huffy"Monica Goodling, a previously unknown Justice Department official who served as liaison to the White House, has become a key figure in the Attorneygate scandal. When newly released emails revealed the prominent role Goodling played in engineering the firing of seven US Attorneys, Goodling pled the Fifth Amendment, refusing to testify under oath.
Josh Marshall writes that Goodling may be "afraid of indictment for perjury because she has to go up to Congress and testify under oath before the White House has decided what its story is."
Goodling's involvement in Attorneygate is not the only aspect of her role in the Bush administration that bears examination. Her membership in a cadre of 150 graduates of Pat Robertson's Regent University currently serving in the administration is another, equally revealing component of the White House's political program.
Goodling earned her law degree from Regent, an ins ution founded by Robertson "to produce Christian leaders who will make a difference, who will change the world." Helping to purge politically disloyal federal prosecutors is just one way Goodling has helped fulfill Robertson's revolutionary goals.
No wing-nut christian extremists to see here - move along!
No it is not a scandal. Folks just get tired of having
their reputation trashed, having to hire lawyers and their
whole life turned upside down by a bunch of low life
politicians who are looking for anything to tar Bush with.
These lawyers were hired for political reasons and more
than likely fired for political reason. It has always
been that way and will always be that way.
Like Bill Clinton's 8 yrs in office? That man was hounded from day 1 in office by an partisan hack.. but, but, but poor Bush is mistreated.. give me a break. Hey ray I noticed you don't have much to say on Bush's ex-aide confirming what we have been saying all along about your hero.. I guess you must have missed that thread
