That would be incredible, but he's probably playing himself into the Top 10. I could see someone like Phoenix picking him with the Atlanta pick. Wouldn't that suck?

anybody want to explain to me how any draft predictor (or NBA GM) could put Julian Wright ahead of Brewer? Outside of being a little thicker (which doesn't matter much because he still gets pushed around inside) and a better passer, I can't find much that he does better than Brewer.
His inconsistent range might hurt him. But he is quick, can defend slots 1-4, has a decent handle, and rebounds decently (5 boards/game isn't bad when Noah and Horford are grabbing up most of the loose balls).
Agreed, Brewer would be the perfect grasshopper for Bruce Lee.

If the Suns don't land a big (B. Wright, J. Noah, A. Horford) with that pick, I'd rather them take Mike Conley than another wing. They can get a pretty decent wing prospect with their later picks. Banks obviously doesn't have the ability for this Suns system. While his jumper is lacking a bit, I think a year or two under Nash and with Dan D'Antoni (the man responsible for Leandro Barbosa's jumper) can fix that. He's fast, heady, a pest on defense, quick off the dribble and pretty damn clutch for someone as young and as limited. He's been rumored to leave if Oden does and I've heard that several teams like him as a late-lottory pick. If all the bigs are gone, Maybe the Suns trade down, net Conley and a potential lottory pick for next year.
Suns messed up big time when they traded Sergio Rodriguez. Sergio is a Nash type player.
They messed up when they traded he and/or the pick with which to take Marcus Williams, Rajon Rondo or Jordan Farmar.
Lots of mistakes by the Colangelo-less Suns front office this past offseason. Only good was Diaw's and Barbosa's extensions.
Suns will need to make some hard decisions with that insane salary they'll be paying for players pretty soon. Too many max and near max guys. Will need to try to dump Diaw or trade away Marion at some point. That said, they're a very good team right now and that Atlanta pick is aces.
Thomas comes off the books and if they can package a late first or two with Banks for a productive player with a shorter contract, they'll have approximately 12 million off the books in the next two or three years.
I think they can keep the Nash/Amare/Marion/Barbosa/Diaw/Bell/Atl pick core together until Nash's contract is up. They are selling out every home game, are a HUGE road draw, make tons off of sponsorships and merchandise and Sarver is loaded. Whether he wants to spend as much is up to him, but he seems to be warming up to the idea. After this year, they'll have two more years of Marion under his current contract and three with Nash, but with a final-year team option. I doubt they exercise it, but who knows.
They have lots of picks (I believe seven - counting 2nds) in the next two drafts, so maybe they can sneak a few prospects, stash them in europe then rebuild around Amare/Diaw/Barbosa and maybe Marion with several cheap 2nd-rounders and 1st-round rookie-scale players.
It doesn't matter how much they make in merchandise, sponsorships, on the road, or at home; there's still revenue sharing. It all depends on Sarver's ability and desire to pay the luxury tax and the next two years he stands to s out at least $30,000,000 extra due to those penalties, and that's without even paying for guys filling roster spots and rookies. That's a punishing amount of money... if Phoenix loses before the Finals this year, do they keep it together? Is there a sense this team will get better than they are, adding Joakim Noah or somebody? With the amount of draft picks they have in the next drafts, it's hard to envision getting value for Shawn Marion that they actually need. Maybe split that salary up into more manageable parts, like Sacramento did with Chris Webber, but giving up a player of that quality is tough.
If they make the Conference Finals, I think they keep things together, add better depth and make another run of things. If they lose prior, I think you can see Marion being shipped off for an expiring contract or two and a few top-20 picks. IF the Suns were to add Noah and maybe take a shot at a Nick Young with an acquired pick, they'd more than make up for the rebounding lost and get better defensive and scoring depth. Right now, the only reason you keep Marion is his rebounding and defense. His offense actually kind of stifles the Suns halfcourt. Noah can fill the lanes and rebound and block shots weakside ala Marion and Young give you an offensive threat off the dribble, from the perimeter and from the FT line, three aspects Marion just doesn't contribute much to. Young is also a great athlete and a solid man-to-man defender. A poor mans Joe Johnson.
I think they keep Diaw because of his potential and lesser contract and try and trade Marion while his value is the highest.
EDIT: I think they could probably wrangle away Green/West/Rondo/Ratliff and a no-protection future 1st from the Celtics for Marion. Shawn is one of Ainge's favorite players (it was he who insisted the Suns draft him in 1999) and I know for a fact that he's inquired at least twice for him since becoming the Celtics president.
Suns do it because they have big, fat googly eyes for a certain college player who's very likely to enter next year. I've heard from a friend who's been in contact with D'Antoni that Mike is willing to trade any number of picks to get this player, who's likely to be a top-10 pick next year. Potentially even top-5, but that's with significant improvement from his freshman year this year. Enter the limited protection pick from the Celtics.

Julian Wright? He was suggested Top 5 this year.
Edited: Wright was a sop re. Not sure who you mean. I hope it's not Chase.
Lots of quality freshman this year. Lots.
corey brewer = josh howard.
whoever takes him will be a very happy team.
suns can have depth but their coach sill will not play his bench
Brewer is incredibly fast. He was outracing guards - they had no chance. He's a freak athlete with great all-around skills. I don't think he's anywhere close to being in Spurs' range unless they also drop multiple firsts for him, and even then probably not enough.
Brewer is definately a top-10 pick. I think most GMs have learned from a player like Josh Howard that freak athletes with all-around skills can make an impact while their offensive game is refined, so passing on them is rather foolish. Brewer appears to be a better athlete and a bit further along from range than Howard was entering, so he's certainly got a bit more going for him than did Howard.
I'd prefer Horford, Noah, Wright or Conley, but I wouldn't be upset if they wound up with Brewer.
Brewer should be top ten but will slide to 14 Pistons pick. He is a perfect Piston.
Brewer's defense is all world.
I'd trade anything outside the big three for Brewer. He's exactly what the Spurs need.
Won't happen, though![]()
