The only time I remember the Spurs blowing chunks against a team that was so horrible at a critical time was when they needed a win to secure the two seed in the 90-91 season. All they had to do was to beat a crappy Denver team that was 20-61 and they would nose out Utah. What did they do? They went out and lost that sucker and I was pissed. Fortunately, they won the final game at home and Utah lost, but that meant they expended a little more energy which could have led to that massive letdown against Golden State.

This sucker came in a close second. Dunce caps for the team tonight.

Even if we had won this game, it still wouldn't have assured us the 2 seed. Anyways, if we get to the 2nd round (and if PHX gets there also), we'd have to win IN Phx, so better sooner than later IMO

If they had won tonight, they would have determined their own fate regarding the #2 seed. Now they still need somebody else to beat Phoenix.

Actually, even if the Spurs had won tonight they would've needed help to take the #2 seed. The Spurs would've been within 2 games of PHX with only one game left between them. Even if the Spurs win that game and the season series, someone else would have to beat PHX.

okay, but your chances of relying one just ONE other team to beat phoenix as oppose to two is much better.

Plus we are now 3 games behind and I doubt we won't lose another game on a night that phoenix wins seeing as how when it comes to the elite teams we're the ones most likely to choke against a lesser lottery team

You're right. For some reason I keep thinking the Mavs won.

Just a bad day all around.

I hear you, but I'm trying to keep things in perspective here. While the sky may be falling to us, the Spurs are on pace to finish with one of their better
Mar 1st through end of season record.

    2006-2007 13W-3L 9 games left (6Home and 3 away)
    2005-2006 19W-7L
    2004-2005 16W-10L
    2003-2004 22W-5L
    2002-2003 21W-5L

Just something to think about. They're about right where they've always been during this time of the year. In fact, they're a little better than last year and a lot better than the Championship year in 05.

Well I see your point, the only thing I would be careful of is using 05 as a comparison to anything. tim was out , something like 16 of those last games.
