Spurs match up better against the Suns and own the Suns

Suns match up better against the Mavs and own the Mavs

Mavs match up better agains the Spurs and own the Spurs

What a viscious cycle...through it all the Mavs have the greatest edge since the Suns and Spurs will battle it out and they'll only have to play one of them...

Oversimplification. Each team has a SLIGHT edge over the other.

Mavs have gotten signficantly better since that dumb foul...Spurs marginally better if maybe not at all considering I doubt Pop plays Elson/Oberto in that series that much.

And it's not oversimplisitic...it just goes to show you how close those top 3 teams in the West are to eachother in terms of talent and how each team has a weakness that one of the other top teams are able to exploit. So then it really comes todnw to seeding and matchups in the playoffs

I don't think the Spurs can beat the Mavs in a 7 game series.......especially after beating a tough 2nd round opponent like the SUNs.

I don't think the Mavs can beat the Suns in a 7 game series...Mavs aren't that great defensively as many people say they are.

I don't think the Suns can beat the SPurs in a 7 game series...Spurs are too tough on defense and have no answer for TD, Parker, or Manu.

I agree that the Spurs matchup better with the Suns and the Mavs matchup better against the Spurs and the Suns Matchup better against the Mavs.

But since we know that the Suns and Spurs will play in the 2nd round it looks to me like another terrific showdown in the WCF's Mavs vs. Spurs.

The Spurs are def a better defensive team than the Mavs. The Mavs are def deaper. All of the games could be very close games at the end. And if i was a Spurs fan i would be very worried about Timmy's FT shooting. He went 2 for 9 last night against the Suns.

In a tight game against the Mavs if the ball goes through Timmy he will just get fouled, sort of like Hack-a-Shaq. The Mavs have a big edge when it comes to FT shooters.

I also predict that the Mavs will not play all their starters on April 15th to help the Spurs win and catch the Suns. The schedule is favorable for the Spurs and not so much for the Suns for the remaining 7 games.

you guys are delusional if you think Mavs would rather plays Spurs than the Suns.

Suns are nobodies, Spurs are champions. You don't with champions if you had a choice.

Delusional, no. Crazy like a fox, yes.

It's all about the Matchups. The Mavs match up with the Spurs far better than the Suns.

Amare and Nash give the Mavs fits. The suns might score 100 or 120 you just don't know. Plus Nash has a boner when it comes to beating the Mavs so he is always trying to prove something. They are unpredictable.

The Mavs know exactly what they are going to get against the Spurs almost every game. 90-95 total points. Timmy gets 20-30, Ginob gets 15-25 and Parker gets 15-25 and that's about it.

The Mavs are way deeper and way younger than the Spurs and that will be a factor.

The Spurs are not going to come out and try and score 120 points so at worst every game is a close game. And Mavs have only lost about 3 games this year decided by 3 points or less.

The Mavs no longer fear the Spurs after last year. The Mavs have won half the games in San Antonio over the last 2 years.

The only advantage of getting the Suns in the WCF's would be the fatigue factor. MDT plays his guys a lot of minutes and by the time you guys get through with them they should be tired.

But make no mistake, I absolutely want the Spurs. And while you are correct about the Spurs being Champions 2 Years ago. That is not even a factor in the consideration of who i would rather play. A lot of good role players on that team 2 years ago are older, slower and less effective now.

Dude, you're crazy. The Mavs had to kill themselves to beat the Spurs in 7 last year and should've lost. They beat the Suns easily in six. Any team would rather play Phx than Dal because against Phx you never worry about "Can we score against these guys?"

Pheonix doesn't have the 2nd best record by accident, you know. Sure, their defense isn't that great, but the Mavs defense isn't so vastly great that they can shut down the Suns like the Spurs defense did last night. Believe it or not, it's very hard to stop the Suns offensively especially when they go on thier little runs...which they almost always do. Spurs defense is just that good that it looked easy for them last night. But Dallas doesn't exactly have a Duncan in the middle or a Bruce Bowen type player to shut down Steve Nash.

I would submit that if Dallas is even the least bit concerned about Phoenix, then maybe they shouldn't be sticking their chests out and acting like they're the best team in the league. In my mind the only real contenders are us and Dallas. Phoenix is the annoying kid brother that pesters you for a while and you put up with him before eventually getting bored of it and giving him a good smack.

I refuse to take any team that gives up 75 in one half seriously.

Suns didn't have Amare. He's who the Mavs don't matchup with very well.
