    ori love watchin espn the day after the spurs beat the suns or any other hands down favorite to win the ship...this is around the time when the media and america get the wake up call..spurs are the elite of the nba

    Spurs are never going to get super publicity like Phoenix, Dallas, Miami, etc because most fans like to see fastbreaks, slamdunks, and triple OT games ending with a score of 145-144. Not many people appreciate the fundamentals practiced by the Spurs, nor our halfcourt style. And because we realisitcally won't ever have a season where we are 10 games ahead of the rest of the compe ion, the media won't be all over our nuts like they are with the Mavs right now.

    Sure, Duncan, Parker, or Ginobili will make highlight reels all the time, but the Spurs would rather slow you down and take you out of your game than try and beat you with the last shot. That's why it's such a "shock" when the Spurs hold the Suns under 90. PHX vs SA isn't the same kind of atmosphere as PHX vs DAL.

    Spurs aren't the elite of the nba.
    Mavs and Heat are the elite of the nba : Mavs because they have played by far the best BB this year and Heat because they have won the last meaningfull event.

    So Spurs are not an elite team, but the Mavs are??? What kind of chumbert would think something like that? Spurs are the kings of the mountain for many years now. What have the Mavs done but win the Southwest Division Champs 2 years running? And what have they accomplished beyond that? ZILCH! The Spurs have had the highest winning percentage in all sports for many years. Saying the Spurs aren't elite but the Mavs are is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long while.
