ASTs go up when a team shoots 53%.
take about ball movement
ASTs go up when a team shoots 53%.
assist also go up with great ball movement
The ball movement sucked for big stretches of the game, but it was awesome in other stretches.
Weird night.
Boutons - ASTs go up when a team shoots 53%.
Ducks - assist also go up with great ball movement
Shooting percentage go up with solid ball movement and great assists.
Weirdly enough, it was James White who got the ball moving swifter on the perimeter. He started zipping some passes and that led to some open looks. For a while, there were a lot of lazy, slow passes.
James White! I noticed he was in during the 3rd quarter...why?
he was in the first quarter also
He was in during the first quarter too![]()
pop might want to see what he can do against starters on other teams to see if he is an option in playoffs
How did he (White) do overall?
First quarter eh? Fantastic...I guess I must dedicate a few hours to my hero James White and make a sig commemorating this blessed event.
The Spurs lost momentum in the 1st quarter when White came in the first time. It wasn't all because of him. Timmy went out about then also. He didn't want to shoot when he was open and the offense suffered. In the 3rd quarter, James was much better and contributed to ball movement that led to scores.
Yeah, he finally showed some hesitation. I thought for a second he didn't realize he was on the Spurs and forgot about the rule that new perimeter players always lose all confidence when they join the team.
I think White was 0 on the +/-. The Spurs were up by about 9 when White came in the first time and were only up by 4 when he went out (-5). When he came in for the 3rd quarter, the Spurs were up by 6 and when White was subbed-out they were up by 11.
Well, he's still O for the year on jumpers. Not good.
Make that + 1 on the night for White. He came in a third time in the 4th and the Spurs increased their lead by 1.
White still looks like a worthwhile project. He seems to look willing to put in the work and has quick feet to go with his explosive hops. To make it, though, he'd have to become a lockdown defender who can board decently. And he needs about 15-20 pounds on him.
Basically if he can become a lockdown defender who can knock down jumpers from at least a couple spots on the court, he'll become an NBA player. He's not there yet but he has the tools to make it if he dedicates himself.
Yeah, he needs at least a Vaughn-level jumper from maybe 17-18 feet.
We've just had bad luck with guys from the university of Cincinnati taking jumpers the last couple of years.
Getting back to the assists subject...of the 30 assists: 20 of them came from TP, Manu and Bruce. When Bruce gets that many (6), it's usually due to ball reversals and reversals are a huge key to moving the defense and ultimately, open shots.
in simple terms for the newbies.Basically if he can become a lockdown defender who can knock down jumpers from at least a couple spots on the court, he'll become an NBA player. He's not there yet but he has the tools to make it if he dedicates himself
Copy Bruce Bowen.
Sans the freethrow shooting of course.
