A&M will be in the sweet 16 next year.
If you don't lose 7 of 10 down the stretch. I'm guessing they didn't bring up the stats at the press conference today, but finishing the season strong hasn't exactly been one of Turg's strengths.
The sweet 16 in 2006 was awesome, but it was bookended by years in which (at one point) the Shox were locks for the NCAA tournament and had monumental collapses in the stretch run.
2005: Shox started 18-3 (11-2). Popped into the top 25 for a short bit. Finished 2-6 and headed to the NIT.
2007: Shox peaked at #9 in the nation coming out of non-conference play. Lost their last 5 in a row and 6 out 8 to miss out even going to the NIT.
assuming no more recruits fly the coop....maybe.
