No suprises there. The Spurs have the best record since the All Star Break. Most people will act like it doesn't matter, but those are the ones who are still living in early February.
Power Rankings have never determined an NBA championship.

I'm excited that the Spurs are playing well -- better, at least, than they were earlier this year. But I don't need power rankings to tell me that, and I'm not going to get excited or upset based upon what some fat sportswriter sitting behind his computer thinks of my team at any given moment.

Power rankings are absolutely meaningless to anything other than getting insecure fans delighted or upset about some totally irrelevant national perception of the team.
True. Last season everyone was saying that the playoffs weren't worth playing that all they needed to do was go straight to the Spurs/Pistons Finals.

However, I want to see them win 16 games in the playoffs and win the championship, because, well, for this team and what it's trying to achieve that's all that really matters and it's what I really want to see, that's what I get excited about."
