That '03-'04 Timberwolves team was the worst #1 West seed in NBA history. Minnesota has missed the playoffs 3 straight years since being in the WCF. The NBA must have really sucked back then if Minnesota was the #1 seed in the West.
Meaning the year(s) he was the best.
I tried to post only players that realistically could be considered the best.
For you Laker Krishnas who insist Kobe is the best, that means he is the best (in your mind) in NBA history to have his team be .500. Consistently too, last 3 years.![]()

stick to talking about the Mavs losing to Golden State, you sound alot smarter.
Kobe has been the best in the league for more than a few seasons now......
Shut The Up
stating why you do not agree with him would be nicer
Why do y'all kiss Dirk's pussy so much?
Did he whip you that hard.
He's the best player this year and last. No way he was better than Duncan 03 to 05 though.
I do not like dirk
At scoring all the points and leaving his team essentially on the sidelines for the entire offensive half of the game?
Yup. He's the best that.
Kobe is the best player in the league but he won't win mvp until his team starts playing better. There is no other player in the league I would rather have taking the last shot of the game for my team. I do think duncan deserves consideration for mvp because I think the spurs would struggle to make the playoffs without him.
It's pretty much understood that Kobe won't win the MVP this year. The MVP award doesn't mean the winner is the "best player in the league."
Actually Dirk is. Nash and Kobe are about the same.
Wait, so you're saying that Dirk>>>>>>>>Kobe?
Let me correct you.
What I meant was Kobe IS the best player in the NBA not the MVP like Dirk is.

Kobe is better than Dirk.
Now the MVP this year has to go to Dirk because his team>>>>>>Kobe team plus Dirk is a superstar on a team with the best record in the league. Plus Nash already has 2 MVP awards no need for another one.
I rest my case.
The ones in bold are the reason Dirk is better. The only thing Kobe is better at is putting up points and that's because he is taking more shots.
We all know that Stevie Franchise isn't.![]()
Kobe has never been the best player in NBA, he is not the best player in NBA and most probably he never will be one.
I would be willing to bet that the majority of NBA players feel that Kobe is the best player in the league.
The majority of NBA players would probably consider Dr. Dre a more well put-together piece of music than Bach or Rachmaninoff as well, but it just doesn't make it so. NBA players aren't analysts (and even they are frequently wrong), so to ask them their opinion is close to worthless. I shudder to think what the average I.Q. of an NBA player is.
Comparing an NBA player's knowledge of classical music to his knowledge of other NBA players' skill levels is a little ridiculous. These guys have spent their entire lives on basketball courts. No matter what you think their I.Q. might be, based off of their life experience alone, it's safe to assume that they can make a qualified assessment of who the best player is.
You're stupid.
I don't want to say much more because I don't think you'll understand what I say.
Ya, Dirk getting 3.5 more rebounds, FG% 4% higher, FT% almost 4% higher, 3pt% almost 7% higher and scoring only 6 points fewer per game while playing 4 minutes LESS then Kobe TOTALLY proves Kobe is the better player...![]()
Kareem Abdul Jabbar won the MVP in 1976 on a 40-42 Lakers team.
