Normal number of games for being involved in a fight. I didn't see him throw any actual punches (but I just saw this for the first time this morning), so maybe 1?
He'll get something, if anything so that the league can punish the Pistons as well. If the situation hadn't escalated past Wallace exchanging words with the Pacers' bench then he might be subject to a 1 game suspension and a $10k fine. But I bet he'll get more.
In his defense I would say that he beat his man and that Artest's shot could easily have resulted in a serious injury. Given the score and the time left in the game I think Artest's foul was excessive. Still, he should have let it go. He should only get a 1 game suspension but my guess is that he'll get 5 plus a $50k fine.
Yeah, if the incident hadn't escalated so much, Wallace probably would have gotten away with 1 or 2 games. But I think the NBA is going to make the penalty more severe in light of the ensuing brawl with the fans... whether that was Wallace's fault or not.
I see Wallace geting 1-3 games, maybe 4-6. He pushed Artest and kept it up until just about when Artest went nutty.
