Because Duncan is the Superstar and he wanted to make a statement by tossing him. He is a typical Ref who's EGO is bigger than his job le should entail. Fans do not want to see Refs be a part of the game. They are supposed to be invisible and just do their jobs.

I really doubt he will be anywhere near the Spurs games in the playoffs. Spurs i am sure tomorrow or whenever will express that to the league. This is a pretty ugly incident and why risk controversy come playoff time with Crawford reffing Spurs games.
