Tell him a good joke, I suppose.
Elson didn't fare too well against Dirk today. If the teams meet in the playoffs, what should the Spurs do differently? I think Bowen should forcus on Howard. Dirk remains a problem to be solved, or at least mitigated.
Tell him a good joke, I suppose.
Elson got in foul trouble in the first few minutes of the game. He played decent in stretches though. Guarding Dirk will be a committee thing .. Elson/Oberto/Horry/Duncan/Bowen will all see some time on him.
People need to stop looking ahead to Dallas though. The Spurs have to get through the Nuggets and Suns first.
Elson, Oberto or Horry. Combined they should be able to guard him well enough.
let's not even think this far, we might loose half our team due to the giggles
Did he take the phrase "stuff a sock in it" literally?
Nah, here's the Dirk killer:

Sparky, was that a diaper Dirk was holding during Jazzercise?????
The real question is, what the heck are the Mavs going to do with Duncan. Duncan is going to drop a HUGE LOAD on Mavs, and Mavs can't try anything because nothing works.
At least Spurs can try different things and make Dirk have to shoot a lot of jumpers to get his 20+ points. Duncan, OTOH, will be unstoppable.
So let Dirk have 20+ points but make him work for it. Make sure Terry, Stack, Howard don't go off for huge numbers.
Spurs win spurs win spurs WIN!
wow. dirk has some really ridiculous associations. this might be the first sax/beer/blow/jazzercise/hasselhoff thread in any messageboard ever.
Dirk hasn't done in the paint since the Mavs wrapped up the #1 seed. He's smart enough to know that driving into the lane full speed and risking rolling an ankle or some such isn't worth it in these meaningless games.
Also, having gone back and rewatched the game on Tivo, the majority of the 11 shots Dirk missed (probably 7) were essentially uncontested. That doesn't bode well for Elson or the rest of the team who tried to guard him.
Duncan will on Diop and his uncle.
Dirk didn't score 50 and they needed Joey Crawford in order to beat the Spurs at home. The only thing that worries me is the S word.
to quote The History of the World, "They should shove a live snake up his ass"
No one will stop Dirk from hitting his jumpers. I think the key is to not let him drive into the paint and put him at the line. He didn't even attempt a FT.
We couldn't do much of anything to stop Duncan in the WC semi's last year but I think that one turned out ok for us.
