who does Texas have in their minor league system at 3B? Any good prospects? Because I think i've just about given up on Blalock ever being any good. I realize it's early in the season but he's just getting worse with each passing game and it's getting about time to dump this worthless .

Not a single 3B prospect at OKC. Why do you think Ron Washington has made him his 'project' this year? Because trading for a decent 3B would cost too much and all people playing 3B in AAA are basically playing out of position and still learning. The closest is Metcalf in AA Frisco. Anyone else would have to change from 2B or SS and play out of their natural position.

See, monosylabik? Things can always be worse. Always. Ensberg=Murphy's Law of MLB 3rd basemen.

Ensberg is one of those guys whose statistics always look better than his actual play. He takes walks, and the hits he does get go a ways, so he ends up with a high OPS, but it doesn't seem like he's really that productive.

I said in a different thread that Texas should have moved him last year when he still had perceived value.

He really hasn't been any good in 3 years. And even before that, he did almost all of his damage at home. His road splits were pretty awful.

i like morgan's glove at third, but his big year in 05 seemingly was a total fluke.

He'll probably never put up numbers like that again, but (statistically) he wasn't that bad last year. He did walk an Abreu-esque 101 times. The .860 OPS is well above average for third basemen. He's just one of those guys that you look at his numbers and struggle to see how he played up to them.

I know that's it's blasphemy to suggest anyone but Biggio, but Ensberg really should be leading off for the Stros. Don't ask him to drive in runs, let him do what he does best, take walks and get on base.

Biggio's my favorite player of all time behind Nolan Ryan, and I still think he can contribute to this team in some respects... but I'm definitely anxious for him to get to the 3000 hit milestone so the Astros can build a winning batting order.
