oh , i was hoping the espn meant esnp on abc.

What's so great about this series besides the fact that it involves the large market Lakers and Steve Nash? Isn't it bad enough that ABC televised this series last season, and two more of their regular season games this year?
IMO, SAS-DEN, GSW-DAL or even UTAH-HOU should have gotten more consideration in this time slot, but as it is, David Stern's large market darling Lakers hog the spotlight once again despite the fact that they're nothing more than a mediocre team.
I predict this series will be a dud and that the Suns will easily dispose of the Lakers in five games, max.
Let the flaming of me begin!

No flaming from this corner.I predict this series will be a dud and that the Suns will easily dispose of the Lakers in five games, max.

What is wrong w/ watching the lakers get a good beat down...?????
Who knows if a Raja closing line Kobe scenario will play out again?
Kobe is the only guy in the POs that could score 50 in each game played.
Suns play what many consider to be the most watchable brand of basketball.
If ABC is worried about their ratings, the Spurs game isn't going to get hyped. Afterall haven't they produced two of the least watched Finals' series in tv history?
GSW and Dallas would be fine to see.
Utah and Houston is gonna be a slobberknocker reminscent of a 90s Eastern Conference matchup, highly unwatchable to the average person.
I'm sick and tired of it--ABC sucks. I wish they'd put the games on TNT where the crew knows what it's doing.
I can't wait until the "airsickness cam" finally goes the way of the "crotch cam".
Just not the type that's condusive to winning NBA les.
Gaybc
Simple....1 word....KOBE.
That's all. He's the most popular player in the NBA nationally and internationally.
There will be plenty of Spurs games on ABC this Postseason. Don't worry about it.
Co-Sign.
Suns/Lakers is a more exciting matchup to watch for basketball fans/general public. I mean, who would u rather watch, Timmy snooze or Amare throwin down dunks? Tony P or Kobe? There's ur answer.
No argument there. But the thread isn't about that.
ABC could care less about what style wins championships, they just want the ratings.
Spurs-Nugs and Mavs-Warriors are great and all, but hardly have the potential for drama and excitement that ABC wants in that timeslot. I see nothing bizarre about having the Lakers-Suns take the marquee spot, especially after what happened last year.
After what happened last year...???
You talking about that choke job.....????????
Kobe not shooting the ball to punish the coach....?? team...??? the world..????
Uhhh...no.
I was more referring to the Kobe-Raja drama, the Kwame standing over Diaw drama, the Game 4 heroics by Kobe, the Game 6 heroics by Tim Thomas, the 3-1 comeback, Nash getting in Kobe's face, etc...basically it's a repeat of an exciting matchup from last year.
It would be great if all the games were on TNT becuase there commentating is so much better and their HD quality blows ESPN and ABC away
If I was an unbiased fan, the most interesting matchup would be Golden State-Dallas by far. At least they got Chicago-Miami right on Saturday. I can't wait for that one tomorrow, although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't getting up at 9:00 to see the Toronto game in the morning.
But you're a passionate fan, one who follows the NBA very closely. For most casual fans, the Lakers-Suns is more exciting.
I agree with you, though. If I'm not rooting for the Suns, then the GS-Dal matchup is far more interesting.
u answered the question urself...large market LA, MVP palyer Nash...and great series last year.
Exactly.
Offensive foul...
