I tend to stay away from ads that use excessive punctuation and over-capitalization.

If it looks appealing to you, try it, but I would keep a healthy dose of skepticism by your side at all times. If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

When companies have people that go on vacations, maternity leave, etc., they often call temp agencies to hire temporary help to fill the void. It's usually in the area of receptionist or secretary, but they offer lots of different positions.

I hesitate a lot over stuff like that. Would it kill you to apply and learn more about them? Of course not. Does it sound like it could be a total waste of your time? Yeah, kind of.

I have a handful of friends who started out temping because they needed flexibility and all of them ended up with jobs they absolutely loved out of it. If you are competent and show up on time, that can go a long way and earn you a place with a good company. Just fyi.

This is a Door to door sales position. They are the guys who put together those "discount" coupon sheets... you know... pay $50.00 and get 6 free oil changes plus up to 40% off other services.... or pizza, etc. BULL POSITION!!! Don't be fooled.

I sent them my resume but then had second thoughts for the reason you guys mentioned- they are vague and since when is a really great, must have job open to so many people?

I am not upset that I applied... took two minutes. But I will definitely proceed with caution.

I know I would really enjoy some aspects of PR... possibly marketing to. And I like being a hostess and writing.
Now I just need to find a job that combines the right amount of all those- or continue working two jobs so I get the variety I like.

You'd be better off selling Pampered Chef or any home sales product. At least it's legit. However, I do know someone that has done very well selling PC.

I went on a job interview when I lived in Chicago for a pyramid operation. It involved selling various products to businesses.

Those people worked hard, made very little money, and advancement opportunities were only available to a few.

I got the job, but I smartened up quickly and decided not to accept it. Don't waste your time. You can do better.
