Is there something wrong with them?
Not to attempt to anticipate your argument, but I'm guessing some people have a problem with celebrities making public displays of good works. I understand that, but I think there is a greater good being served by having high-profile people help the community in the public eye. It's a good way to create awareness for a given issue, and it's also a good way to motivate certain people, ie people who closely follow celebrities.
I know it's not always geniune help that celebrities provide, but some good is being achieved.
Again, I have no idea what your objection to these commercials was. Just spitballing.
