Denver is the better team....but the real story is all about the matchups. For the Mavs, the Warriors and their style of play, makes them the much more difficult opponent.
Both stole game 1 Vs Spurs and Mavs so that proves they are good but which team is better? I still think Mavs will beat GS in 6 or maybe win the next 3...

nuggets is more harder, they got inside presence and outside players who can play, but have no bench
warriors..small ball but no defense, dont have inside presense when they play teams who have a frontline, unless the other team adjust to smallball then they are d.
I'd say neither prevents a tough game for the Spurs. Different teams give different teams problems. The Warriors give Dallas problems. Denver gives neither team problems. Denver just got a couple of shots to go down in Game 1. Spurs came out, won Game 2 and will go from there. Dallas' 67-15 record is deceiving, and it's showed in the first two games vs. GS, pre-Baron ejection of course.
Good point Jeff...because everybody played like against the Mavs all season, right??
GENIUS!!!
and if they Nuggets aren't worthy, how did they win one game in SA and have it within 3 pts with about a minute left in the 2nd game??? Sounds pretty close to me...![]()

I think it's hard to find a bead on how good the Warriors are right now. Clearly they're one of the better ".500" teams the league has seen a long time, but the Nuggets have been even hotter recently.
I would initially go with the Nuggets for that reason. They have a very solid group of individual players who are learning to mesh and should be amazing next year. The Warriors actually remind me a bit of the Bulls -- a bunch of Small Forwards who are really flexible at any position. But the Bulls play excellent defense and use open jumpers to generate points, while the Warriors rarely play any consistent D and drive to the rim more often. They still have the same mismash feel that the Bulls do when you watch a game though. Often I think the Bulls (if Ben is not on the court) are playing a 1-2-3-3-3 rather than a 1-5 set.
Denver are organized team. Warrirors are a ing mess.
Warriors are fearless and actually beleive they can beat the Mavs. Nuggets are starting to have some fear now and do not truly beleive they can beat the Spurs. IMO
Denver Nuggets. GS lost their cool, and it doesn't look like they'll be able to recover. We will not lose our cool, as evidenced by our crafty game two comeback that came up just short. Be afraid Spurs fans.
Nonsense. There's no such thing as a comeback that came up short.![]()
Whatever. You were beating us handily and then we came back to almost win it. If we hadn't missed 34 layups in the first half, we would have won.
But congratulations on tying the series!
If the Spurs hand't missed 34 layups in the first half of game 1, you ers would be down 2-0If we hadn't missed 34 layups in the first half, we would have won.
so STFU.
I think the Nuggets are a better team, but I think if refs let you play "streetball", the Warriors are the more dangerous. They are damn fast and good shooters, though I think their bench sucks. Both the Nugs and the Warrriors are tough first round opponents and either could win their series.
Why don't we stop these "what ifs". The Spurs could also easily have finished the game with a 20+pt lead "if" we shot the ball into the basket and "if" we did not let the Nuggets come back (that well, uh, came up short).
The game is settled. The Spurs have won. Thanks for giving them credit.
Let us just wait for the next game. Are you cool with that?
I agree
I think the Nuggets are just fine in the confidence department for now...if they lose the next game, that might change though.
Yup. The pivotal game 3. We know drama.
Yes, but of course.
I meant that the tide would start to turn in the Spurs favor...that could start to curb their confidence a little...
Yup, I know.![]()
Are the games going to be shown in TNT anyways? Because that means I will have to tolerate The Closer, Saving Grace and Heartland commercials again.
But TNT basketball is good!
What? The Closer is on TNT? Since when?
Just wanted to make sure...
And no, the game is on ESPN tomorrow night.
Denver. They'd actually have a shot to beat Phoenix, and maybe even Dallas if they get through the Spurs. Golden State just matches up well with Dallas, but would get slaughtered in the second round.
Denver is better than Golden State. However, Golden State matches up with Dallas better than any team outside of Phoenix. They are both dangerous first round matchups for the Spurs and Mavs.
Tougher?
I'm going to have to say Denver. If they get some quality bench players, they are going to be a force next season.
